2014 POWER X-TRAVAGANZA (Part 8)

IF IT$ COOL ENOUGH FOR KE$HA...

...IT$ COOL ENOUGH FOR $TEPH!
Getting down to the nitty gritty time here in FFW, as right now everyone remaining stands a 33% chance of making it into the top 10, and a 3% chance of coming out as #1!   Of course, that’s assuming all odds are even (which they’re very much not), but, as you can see from the names on here, even making it this high in the Power X is something to write home about.  Also of note… a lot of Unity competitors are in here.  Teamwork, yo!

#30: KINSEY DECARO
Ranked 30th in 2013
2014 Record: 2-3
Kins was inexplicably only in five matches this year, but all five were fairly major, and she did haul in wins over Jodie and Emma.  She also twice competed for the Evolution Championship, and came up short both times, although she managed to survive to be runner-up in the Elimination Chamber.  Still, Kinsey enters 2015 hoping to shake the “always the bridesmaid” reputation she’s gotten.

#29: $TEPHANIE $TEFANO
Ranked 31st in 2013
2014 Record: 3-2
Witches  Brew was as solid a team that’s ever existed in the Unity Division, and they maintained a grasp on the belts all the way into July, when they were sadly forced to vacate them due to an injury by Steph (whether or not this was legit is up for debate).  Steph’s over in SVW now, where she’s turned on her partner, and is suffering through a significant hit in her reputation due to her actions.

#28: CLAIRE BLACK
Ranked 43rd in 2013
2014 Record: 4-2
Nearly two years of frustration came to an end at Sin & Sacrifice for KO/TO, as Claire and Serafina finally picked up the Unity Championships by besting The Rockin’ Kittens for the vacant straps.  Oddly, theyhaven’t defended the belts yet- or, and Claire hasn’t even been in a main-roster match since that night.  That changes in early 2015, but it was still awesome to see them finally get over the hump.  And with luck, her participation in Future Shock All-Stars will give her a singles identity that she’s thus far been lacking.

#27: MILEENA SAVAGE
Ranked 52nd in 2013
2014 Record: 5-7
Compared to 2013, 2014 was a banner year for Mileena, although still not as productive as she would have liked.  Still, she picked up a huge win over Valerie Lamb and another one over Summer, and even managed to help get IN Canada We Trust into the win column.  She did come up short in her first title shot, failing to beat Caroline Stark at Relentless.

#26: SUNNY KYOUN
Ranked 28th in 2013
2014 Record: 3-3
As a member of the Witches Brew, Sunny was darn near unstoppable as she and Steph set records.  Outside of it’s been a different story, as Sunny’s looked very vulnerable in losses to Claire and Kaylee.  Expect the growing pains to continue as she strikes out on her own in 2015- but don’t be surprised if there’s some triumphs as well.

#25: SERAFINA DECARO
Ranked 10th in 2013
2014 Record: 5-3
Like her partner Claire, Serafina was primarily in the Unity Division in 2014, something that paid off huge dividends at Relentless when they captured the titles.  Unlike Claire, ‘Fina’s used her Future Shock chops to get into a handful of singles matches as well, picking up wins over the now Steph Stefano and an emotional victory over Ignis.

#24: GABRIELLE CRIMSON
Ranked 44th in 2013
2014 Record: 8-9
Not sure if Gabby had the most matches of anyone in 2014, yet, but she’s definitely up there with a robust 17.  As you can see, she was 50/50, losing her Future Shock Championship to Jo right off the bat, and failing to regain it, as well as the run she had with Gabby towards the Unity belts coming up short a couple times as well.  But she had her moments- capturing the Trios Championship with Shades of the Sun in August, as well as picking up big singles wins over Mel Avilo and Syren towards the end of the year, setting her up for another run at the Future Shock Championships.

#23: KELLY MCGUFFIN
Ranked 21st in 2013
2014 Record: 7-1
You could argue that Kelly was a victim of her own success- at least when it comes to these rankings.  She dominated the Television title landscape, holding the belt for nearly nine months.  But TV Champions don’t often get prime spots on the card or the most marquee of opponents, which hurt Kelly (as did only having 8 matches).  Still, she pulled strong wins over Neveah Summers, Kate Steele, and Misty Whitmore.  You could also argue that her loss to Neveah- her only of the year- at Anarchy is a blessing in disguise, as it now frees Kelly to do what the TV title’s meant to- springboard herself into darn near any division she wants at this point.

#22: IGNIS
Ranked 20th in 2013
2014 Record: 4-10
Ignis is a strange case- her record is clearly crap, but the fact of the matter is, when she wins, she wins big, enjoying two decent championship reigns, one in Trios, one in Future Shock, and enters the year still holding the latter, and enjoys a big win over Jo McFarlane. And everyone hates to admit it, but she’s drawing in viewers by the van load with her antics- call them disgusting all you want, but they’re compelling people to watch in hopes that she gets her ass kicked.  She finally did, but that’s a story for next year.

#21: LILLY SHEFFIELD
2014 Record: 10-1
There was zero contest for Future Shock Rookie of the Year this year, thanks to Lilly roaring into the company and dominating the division from the getgo, her only loss coming to Ignis in one of the most agonizing to watch finishes in FFW history.  Lilly enters 2015 with a move up, and the entire company laid out before her.  No doubt whatever division she moves up to (Trios looks almost certain), she’ll be successful in.
