2014 POWER X-TRAVAGANZA (Part 5)

LASTED NEARLY TWO YEARS AND ONCE BEAT THE TELEVISION CHAMPION.
PRO WRESTLING IS WEIRD, KIDS

And so we gamely push ourselves forward up the rankings, and after today, we will be halfway.  That’s when things get really exciting!

TOP SIXTY… GO!

#60: CANDI
Ranked 42nd in 2013
2014 Record: 2-12
After a 2013 that was, quite honestly, unbelievable, Candi couldn’t quite come up with the same success in 2014, only managing a couple victories over Destiny Figgins before limping out of the fed as one of the weirdest and unexpected wrestlers FFW has ever had.

#59: JEM MICHAELS
Ranked 66th in 2013
2014 Record: 5-1
Jem never competed outside of tag competition this year, but NHB had a much stronger year than 2013, picking up wins over The Social Elite and the Rudos.  Sadly, they never really seemed to gain any traction towards the Unity Championship, a clear disappointment for them.

#58: ANGELA HINCHCLIFFE
Ranked 63rd in 2013
2014 Record: 5-1
…Or perhaps not?   After all, they’re now teaming with former Future Shock dominant Lilly Sheffield to form the team Union Jacked.  Perhaps some gold will finally await these underutilized veterans.

#57: RHEA LASKARIS
2014 Record: 4-1
What happened to the Mouse…erm, Greek?  Coming in fresh out of Future Shock, Rhea tore through her first four opponents in gaining a Future Shock Championship match against Lilly Sheffield at Redemption.  She couldn’t get it done, and completely disappeared afterwards.  Just a bizarre disappearance from someone who was really starting to pick up steam.

#56: FREYA KANE
Ranked 69th in 2013
2014 Record: 6-1
Speaking of “picking up steam”, check out the turnaround on Freya, who closed out the year winning six straight matches after losing her first six (she was 0-5 during her first run).  Biggest win so far was a shocker over Stacey to give her serious momentum heading into the All-Star season of Future Shock.  And of course it’s got her a Television title shot against Neveah, which is just about to happen.

#55: REBECKA HATE
Ranked 38th in 2013
2014 Record: 2-5
Perhaps Becky was trying to do too much at once?  While she spent the majority of the year toting around the SVW Championship, Rebecka wasn’t anywhere close to championship level in FFW, struggling for much of the year and disappearing for months at a time.  She had one shining moment, however- a true display of championship form with a win over Valerie Lamb in the first round of the Femme For All.

#54: KANNA HAROSHI
Ranked 103rd in 2013
2014 Record: 1-5
Kanna hoped joining Aimee Easter and forming T.R.U.T.H. would serve as a launching pad for her career, but while it landed her in a lot of high-profile matches, she couldn’t pull through in any of them. Eventually she was dumped by Easter- in the middle of a match, no less- and came up short in the inevitable showdown.  Her one win was sentimental, however, happening in Tokyo over Dawn Warren.  She’s starting from square one in 2015.

#53: SYLVIA CROWLEY
2014 Record: 2-2
The Season 14 champion hasn’t been seen in the ring too much thus far, getting eliminated early on in a Future Shock Battle Royal, trading wins with Dawn Warren.  Her marquee moment came at the end of the year, however- pulling out a massive win over Kate Steele in a very controversial first ever Metal Mayhem match.

#52: RAVYN TAYLOR
2014 Record: 6-2
Ravyn’s pretty much hung around her good buddy Syren, staying mostly in the Unity divison after their Trios campaign was cut short by McTaggerts departure.  The going’s been slow, but fruitful- they enter the year the #1 Contenders to KO/TO.  She has proven her singles chops too, pulling out an upset win over Alysson Gardner back in September, although she hasn’t shown any true progression in a singles career.

#51: MEL AVILO
Ranked 79th in 2013
2014 Record: 5-3

If you’re going to come back to FFW, you might as well come back right, and Mel did just that, entering an alumni match and earning herself a Future Shock Championship shot.  And while she came up short in that, and again against Gabrielle Crimson in a #1 Contenders match at Breakdown, Mel also netted impressive wins over DJ Laine, Ignis, and Sophie Richards.  Look for her to stay in the Future Shock division, and remain a threat to whoever the champion might be.
