I DON'T CARE WHAT IT LOOKED LIKE. THIS IS WHAT IT FELT LIKE. |
Some days I report the story. Some days I comment on the story. And some days I fuggin MAKE the story.
Thursday Night was one of those days, where I pulled out my best Gandalf/Leonidas/Black Knight impression and kept people out of that fucking ring to let my client do her job. That is why I'm bad ass and undefeated in SVW. I know, it kinda broke down after the match, and Wendy still ended up in the hospital, but she doesn't pay me overtime, so...
Anyways, show rankings!
1. WENDY BRIESE: As much as I love thumping my chest here, Wendy still wrestled her heart out, and pulled off a huge win over a very tough Easter. Bonus points to her concentration, which was maintained (along with that Gogoplata) while things went to hell around her.
2. JO MCFARLANE: After nearly three years and almost forty matches, Jo McFarlane finally has a championship belt to call her own, extending her winning streak to five with a phenomenal come-from-behind win over Gabrielle Crimson to win the Future Shock title. It's always great to watch when a promising young star's potential finally bears fruit.
3. UNDINE: She's facing a different kind of beast at One Night Stand, but The Aquablonde's cemented herself as the favorite for the Ultraviolence Battle Royal with a massive win over Hate and Emma in the Elimination Tables match. The Aquablonde's stock is yet again rising.
4. AIMEE EASTER: Easter can't feel TOO bad- the last five Pick Your Poisons have now failed. And it was a good cheatyface strategy if one doesn't account for how awesome Briese's manager is. Still, Aimee's looking a little bit vulnerable as she heads for the rematch against Eileen, even though Kanna's appearance gives her even more of a numerical advantage.
5. ADIRA RIDDICK: After falling victim to unfortunate circumstances in Future Shock, Adira started her FFW career in earnest at Velocity, and while she was shaky at first, she rebounded nicely for a convincing win over Hope. Of course, DJ Laine's cheapshot afterwards isn't going to sit well with her, but that's for One Night Stand to determine.
6. GABRIELLE CRIMSON: They're called High-Risk moves for a reason, as poor Gabby found out the hard way when Jo busted out FFW's favorite anti-air defense- the kip-up jumping cutter. It's a disappointing end Gabby's initial title run, but it's probably not the end to the meteoric start of her career. You know a rematch and a shwodown with Ignis will be coming up soon in her future.
7. EMMA MACNAMARA: You have to give Emma credit for her awareness, capitaliing on Rebecka Hate's tunnel vision to pick up a relatively easy elimination. But once one on one with Undine, things went downhill really quickly, and Emma ended up eating wood in a far more painful way than her rival did.
8. MERCEDES VARGAS: Mercedes went for a bit of overkill on Candi, and it nearly cost her everything, but, with a bit of help from her manager (who's not as awesome as me, obviously), she got through it, and capitalized off of Candi's own error in devastating fashion to pick up her first win.
9. NEVEAH SUMMERS: Yes, she dominant and made it look easy. But it was Destiny Loveheart, for crying out loud, so let's not go crowning her yet. We'll know more about Neveah truly after One Night Stand.
10. REBECKA HATE: Hate's under a ton of pressure right now, given that she's a champion in SVW and needing to uphold that level in both companies. And it's understandable that someone who's under that much pressure and not accustomed to it would make an error, but that was a big error that cost her a chance for a huge victory. Being out ONS may be a good chance for her to get her head on straight.
11. CANDI: Candi, Candi, Candi, Candi. I love you, but the fact of the matter is, you can't AFFORD exclamation points. So when the opportunity comes to get a win, you need to take it when you can, and not put a woman like Mercedes Vargas up on a turnbuckle. Just a bad mistake, and if Candi makes anoher one, she'll be kissing Valentina's feet in two weeks.
12. HOPE DAWSON: Hope put up better fight than I'd expected against Adira, but it's still obvious that this woman has a long way to go, and it's going to be even longer if she can't keep her focus up on a day to day basis. Having the webmaster- effectively FFW's main official PR guy (I'm the main unofficial PR guy, of course), doesn't help matters.
13. DESTINY LOVEHEART: FOUR! Four more matches left on her contract... Ah ah ah!
