This is Casey Kasum, and this is your AMERICAN TOP 40!
Okay, not really... but god I loved that show. Or at least repeats of it- it kinda went off the air before I got born. Anyways, we ARE in the Top 40, though, and that means shit is starting to get serious. It's also starting to get easier, because I can remember who I'm talking about.
LEONA VEGA
2013 Record: 5-1
Leona's career did not have an auspicious start- losing to Nancy Dietz in her debut. After that, she went up like a rocket, dominating the Hyper Tigers in three matches, before capping the year off with a win in the ladder match to earn herself a shot at the Television Championship. The future seems bright for the Mexican, even without Mika constantly at her side.
RORI MACKENZIE
2013 Record: 2-1
Let's be honest here. Is Rori Mackenzie no longer being in FFW good for the company? Absolutely. But she does deserve to be this high as well, being one of the few PPV Main Event winners of 2013, culminating a brutal eight month rivalry with Crystal Hilton in a tag team Hardcore war. You can't sneeze at the brutality she pulled when she was here.
REBECKA HATE
2013 Record: 6-6
Becka Hate's had an up and down year. Beginning in a tag team with Laura Steele, Becka finally managed to break out on her own, and find success in advancing to the Semifinals of the Femme For All, and getting revenge on Crystal and Laura for kicking her out in a trios match with NHB. The year ended on a sour note, however with Laura beating her in the steel cage. She also won the SVW Championship at When Worlds Collide, so she has that going for her.
MADDISON KNIGHT
2013 Record: 3-1-1
Rori's sidekick actually ends up a little higher ranked, thanks to being in more matches than her master, and being almost as devastating in that Hardcore war as Rori herself.
SAMARA STEELE
2013 Record: 6-2
Samara's one of those more known for what she does outside the ring than inside, but she still managed to do rather well for herself, particularily in a six-match winning streak against progressively tougher competition. She finished the year with a disappointing loss to Camilla Pazzini in the Femme For All, and a wrecking of Rhea Laskaris in the Future Shock XII finale. It remains to be seen what Samara will do- if she even survives- in 2014.
HOLLY ADAMS
2013 Record: 5-4-1
No one's ever created as much buzz before their first match than the Blondetourage, and Holly's unapologetic bitchiness was much of the driving force behind that. She did end the year on a slightly sour note, with three consecutive losses, but with a Unity shot coming up at One Night Stand, 2014 could be The Year of the Blonde
MADELYNE MCTAGGERT
2013 Record: 6-2-1
Maddy strikes me as a slightly better wrestler than her Meanest Girls counterpart, which makes up for her being not QUITE as much as a total bitch as Holly. Like Holly, she also cooled off a bit towards the end, but remains a very viable threat to the Unity Belts.
CAMILLA PAZZINI
2013 Record: 3-6-1
In the ring, Camilla had a horrible year, with her tag team fizzling (admittedly by her own design), and her only singles win coming against Samara in the Femme For All. But Chunks made her impact anyways, forming a rift with longtime friend VAlerie Lamb that culminated with her screwing Val out of a chance at FFW Championship at Anarchy.
JESSIKA HEXSTAR
2013 Record: 5-8
My cousin started her FFW tenure by kidnapping me, and slicing me open and taking my blood, so I'm a little bit annoyed she's even THIS high. But she did have her moments, including a big win over Misty Whitmore back in April. Her results seem to be directly concentrated with her mindset- the more neurotic she's acting, the better chance she has of losing. Sadly for Jess, she's pretty much neurotic all the time.
STEPHANIE DALLINS
2013 Record: 4-3
Making her debut at Unstoppable fresh off of being screwed by the Rudos, Steph, along with her Witches Brew partner Sunny, went on a tear through the tag ranks. Even though they came up short in their first encounter with Of Poets & Prophets, the second time proved to be a charm, and they dethroned the champions to finish out the year on top of the Unity division.
NEXT UP: Only three more installments left! Singers, Trampoliners, and Gamers! DO SVEDINA, MOTHERFUCKERS!
