SHOW RANKINGS- Unity Special 7.8.13

While we weren't subjected to shockwave after shockwave like we were at Velocity, there was definitely some fireworks at the Unity show in Toronto, as some tag teams showed they need a little work, while others had their coming out party.

In a break from normal Power X protocol, I'm simply ranking teams for this show, instead of individual wrestlers, even though I tend to rank tag teams individually in the main rankings.  But with twenty-two wrestlers spread out over only five matches, seperating the individuals would be a bit of a chore.  So its by the unit today.

1. THE POWER TRIP (Isabella Pazzini, Starla McCloud & Tara Thunder)- Isabella's hoping to go out on a winning streak, if not on top, and she extended it to two with a crafty bellhammer shot just when things were starting to look good for Spectra Fantasia.  Once again the Power Trip sends teh fans home unhappy.

2. THE WILLIAMS CLAN (Crystal Hilton & Jennifer Williams)- You gotta hand it to them- when they're on, they are ON.  Jenny especially is turning into someone you just don't want to face when you're hot- she's killing streaks left and right.

3. BOUNCE & POUNCE (Hayley Dark & Ignis)- The tag champions followed up a tough win over Anger Management with a much more breatheir one over KO/TO.  While their Williams Clan rattled the tag division a little, B&P kept it from being completely dumped on its head.

4. SPECTRA FANTASIA (Camilla Pazzini, Valerie Lamb & Wendy Briese)- Whether or not you blame Wendy messing up the chemsitry or Isabella's Bellhammer, its a rare loss (if not the first time) for what has historically been FFW's greatest tag team. But it's going to certainly motivate two people at Unstoppable.

5. ANGER MANAGEMENT (April Evans & Penny Buchanan)- Excellent bounceback win after their failed bid for the belts.  Both women were impressive in that ring, but Buchanan doubly so, as she is clearly heating up into one of the brightest young talents on the roster.

6. OF POETS AND PROPHETS (Aimee Easter & Lightning)- The #1 Contenders swaggered in with a bit of hubris- never a good thing to do against the plucky (and sometimes inexplicable) Williams girls.  They paid for it, and know darn well who's breathing down their necks as they chase the belts.

7. FROSTED STEEL (Laura Steele & Rebecka Hate)- Going into the match, I wasn't even sure that Laura Steele knew what 'ring awareness' even meant.  But she proved she had at least a smattering, reversing Misty's People's Decree into Kate's Demise.

8. PURE ADRENALINE (Kate Steele & Misty Whitmore)- Believe it or not, this was Misty's first FFW match in over two months.  Still, you can't really blame rust for the loss- she simply got her dander up and couldn't put on the brakes when things suddenly went wrong. Doesn't help that there still seems to be some lingering trust issues between her and Kate.

9. NO HOLDING BACK (Angela Hinchcliffe & Jem Michaels)- This was Jem's FFW debut as a member of the main roster. Definitely a strong effort by the two girls, but their indy experience just couldn't quite stack up against the raw power of Penny and April, who have both been on a tear.

10. KO/TO (Claire Black & Serafina Reynolds)- Tough call, as unlike most shows, there was no clear fail whale in the ring this week, and they did face the tag champs.   But all due respect to Claire and Cupcake, both of whom have become FFW staples and are fantastic singles wrestlers (one is the longest reigning champ in FFW history, mind you), but something just doesn't seem to be clicking here in the tag division.  If they struggle against CCKVIP and Hexstar this weekend, they might want to rethink their approach.

Got something to say about the Power X? Go ahead. But be careful, Daniel Pollaski WILL respond- and he makes people cry for a living.
