WAYBACK WEDNESDAYS #6: Tara Thunder's Argument Is Invalid

Welcome yet again to Wayback Wendesdays, where we dig out buried treasures from FFW’s past, dust them off, and show them to the world, whether you wanted us to or not.

So last week, Future Shock alumnus Jodie Gray faced Future Shock hater Tara Thunder.  In the war of words leading up to the match, with Tara Thunder slamming the veracity of our beloved intorductory competition on all sides, Jodie Gray came up with an approach best summarized by:

“Hanna Elliot  Your argument is invalid.”

And anyone who started following SVW in the last three years got this vacant look on their face, blinked a couple of times, and asked no one in particular- “who?”

Hanna Elliot came into Femme Fatale Wrestling in later 2011 as a member of Future Shock Season Four, the same season that gave us Desirae Kain, Arabella Black, and Gigante, and was actually won for a period of time by Casey Atherton (don’t ask).  Elliot was eliminated second in the competition, only outlasting train-wreck-in-waiting Deven Knight.  She would go on to have a remarkably unremarkable 2 year run in the company, managing only five wins and becoming more known for fairly epic self-pitying Twitter meltdowns.

Oh, and one of those five wins were over Tara Thunder.

There are some upsets that you look back on and realize that they’re not so much upsets in hindsight- the other person was just better than you expected.  Mika beating Camilla is a prime example of this.  Then there are those upsets that you can go months- years, even decades looking back and still wondering “how the fuck did she pull this off?”

This is one of the latter, kids.

This was supposed to be a warmup match for Tara, who was about to walk into Violent Night in Dallas to face Crystal Hilton for the Evolution Championship.  For Hanna, it was an opportunity, but one no one in their right mind thought she would capitalize on.  Hanna would instead remind everyone one of the harshest and most forgotten truths in wrestling.

You’re always only three seconds away.

VELOCITY #24- Seattle, WA- November 3, 2011
(match written by Josh)

Ben: Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is scheduled for one fall.

"Thunderstruck" starts playing and along with the starting riff out walks Tara Thunder dressed up in a pink and black combination there she stands at the top of the ramp as the crowd resents the usual sing along chanting to "Thunder!" resorting to boos and jeers at her.  Entrance way goes dark she walks to the ramp way the lights in the arena flash like a lightning during a thunderstorm and light back up before she heads rushingly towards towards ringside refusing to slap hands of the fans then she jumps on the apron letting the pyro explosions go off around the ring before flipping herself over the top rope. Once in the ring she takes of her pink jacket, flicks her long curly hair back swinging her curvy body a bit doing some hits and kicks as the music dies down.

Ben: Introducing first, from Miami, Florida……..Tara Thunder!

Showtime: Crazy don’t even begin to describe this woman but whatever the state of her mind is, one thing’s for certain……..she’s next in line for a shot at the Evolution title!

CCM: She is. Tara has a match with Crystal Hilton coming up at Violent Night where she once again has a shot to get the Evolution Championship and with all this talk of conspiracies on her end, I think that’s a do or die match for her if there ever was one.

“Mannequin” starts to play over the PA System and the lights start to flicker in blue flashes as Hanna Elliot appears from a cloud of smoke that had formed around the entrance ramp. Showing no concern from the boos coming from the female fans, Hanna blows a kiss out into the crowd, bending over in the process before she starts her walk down to the ring. Once she reaches ring side, Hanna looks at the ring and runs a hand down her body, shaking her ass at the crowd to a series of cat calls from the male fans. Hanna walks up the steps and places her hands on the ropes as she places half her body inside the ring and the other half still on the outside, straddling the ropes, Hanna gives an innocent wink before entering the ring and awaiting the bell to ring.

Ben: And her opponent…………from Richmond, Virginia, Hanna Elliot!

Showtime: Man, I love Hanna’s entrance! Those ring ropes are lucky!

CCM: Well, Hanna Elliot has a match coming up at Violent Night as well when she takes on the delusional Casey Atherton in a clash of Future Shock stars. That should be…..interesting, but tonight she’s got her hands full with Tara.

The bell rings and Hanna just stares across the ring at Tara for a few moments before she charges her and goes for a clothesline. Tara ducks, spins Hanna around and nails an uppercut that rocks her. Hanna holds onto her jaw and staggers back, but Tara nails another. This backs Hanna into a corner, but Tara stays on her and nails some rapid fire kicks to her in the corner before she grabs her by the arm, takes a running start and gives her some pretty good hang time with a hip toss. Hanna holds the small of her back as she gets up, but Tara catches her with a scoop power slam. Hanna is slow to get up, but does so holding her back again. As she turns around, Tara comes to life and nails a bicycle kick that catches Hanna right on the skull.

Showtime: Tara is teeing off on Hanna and this is getting ugly fast! We’re talking Deas ugly, here!

CCM: Tara’s come out of the gate looking to dominate and make a point and so far she has.

Hanna crawls over to the ropes and slowly pulls herself up to her feet as the crowd gets behind her and claps to try and will her back into the match. She turns around and Tara boots her in the gut, then reels her in and nails a snap suplex. Hanna holds her back and kicks the mat in pain as Tara gets up with a smirk on her face. She stomps Hanna to the gut a few times, then grabs her by the legs. She goes for her sharpshooter, but Hanna responds with some kicks that causes Tara to stagger backward. This only seems to anger Tara, though, who catches Hanna with a knee to the gut as she makes it to her feet, then grabs her by the arm and rockets her across the ring and into the ropes. As Hanna comes back, Tara goes for a discuss clothesline but Hanna manages to duck it. She springs off the other side of the ring and when she comes back at Tara, leaps up with a Thesz press.

Showtime: Hanna FINALLY manages to take Tara down here and it’s about damn time. Up until now this match has been all Tara!

CCM: It has, Tara’s absolutely dominated here but Hanna has a spark of life left and that’s all she needs to get something going here.

Hanna makes it to her feet and begins nailing a flurry of kicks to Tara. She reaches down after a boot to her head and pulls Tara to her feet before she reels her in with a piledriver. Before she can bring Tara back and spike her into the mat, though, Tara lifts her up with a back body drop. Hanna manages to twist herself around and land on her feet behind her, however. This gets the crowd to cheer as Hanna twists Tara around and then grabs her by the head and snaps her back with a DDT. She rolls Tara over and quickly hooks a leg.

One!

Showtime: Hanna’s got a cover on Tara!

Two!

CCM: Tara kicks out and Hanna is showing nothing but heart here.

Hanna makes it up and nails a few kicks to Tara again before she backs into the ropes and looks for an elbow drop on her. Tara rolls out of the way and Hanna gets nothing but mat. As she gets to her feet, Tara rakes her eyes and then nails several vicious knife edge cops to her chest before she grabs her by the head and reels her in with a vertical suplex. She stalls as she gets Hanna in midair and lets her hang there for a moment before snapping her back into the mat! Tara quickly floats over and gets on top of her.

One!

Showtime: She ain’t even bothering to hook Hanna’s leg!

Two!

CCM: Hanna shoots an arm up and I think all that’s done is irritate Tara!

Tara gets to her feet and places a foot across Hanna’s neck as she chokes her. Tara grabs a hold of the top rope for leverage and continues to choke Hanna as the crowd rains down some boos on her and starts a “you suck” chant. Tara lets up on Hanna after a few moments, but nails a stomp to her for good measure before she looks around at the crowd with a smirk. Hanna crawls over to the ropes and begins to get up using them, but Tara seems to lay in wait for her and once she makes it up to her feet and turns around, lifts her up for an atomic drop. Hanna grabs her by the head, though and manages to spin around and spike Tara down into the mat with a tornado DDT that gets the crowd cheering again.

Showtime: Good counter there from the former Future Shock competitor and I’d say that shocked Tara pretty well!

CCM: We saw a hell of an upset last week when Pink, Inc. won the Unity Tag Team titles, imagine if Hanna won here? That’d have to be considered an upset as well and the second one in just as many weeks, too!

Hanna gets up slowly and shakes the cobwebs from her head. She looks around and realizes that Tara is pretty much laid out on the mat. She quickly rushes over to her and gets down on top of her and then hooks a leg.

One!

Showtime: This could be it!

Two!

CCM: Hanna’s got it!

NO! Tara literally tosses Hanna off of her and the crowd rains down more boos onto the ring as Tara gets to her feet. Hanna starts getting up, but Tara goes to cut her off with a clothesline but Hanna ducks it to cheers and then spins Tara around. She kicks her in the midsection and then grabs her by the head and goes for a vertical suplex. Tara manages to fall behind her, however and grabs her from behind. Before Hanna even seems to know what’s going on, Tara pops her back with a German suplex!

Showtime: Beautiful German suplex from Tara Thunder and Hanna’s in a baaaaaaaad spot here.

CCM: Agreed, she’s down………Tara’s up. This isn’t where I would want to be in a match like this.

Tara seems to wait for Hanna to get up and the crowd boos as she grins and once Hanna makes it to her feet slowly, closes in and grabs her by the head. She seems to be looking for the Down and Dead, but Hanna shoves her off of her and into the ropes. As Tara comes back, she flies through the air with a shoulder block that takes her down. The crowd roars their approval as Hanna gets up to her feet and as Tara gets up, winds up and smacks her right on the face with a bitch slap. The fans seem to know what’s coming and get louder as Hanna goes for a big boot, but Tara ducks it. As Hanna turns around, Tara goes for the Down and Dead again but Hanna drops to the mat and quickly rolls her up!

One!

Showtime: Hanna with a rollup!

Two!

CCM: Does she have her?

Three!

Ben: Here is your winner of the match via pinfall, HANNA ELLIOT!

The crowd explodes and Hanna rolls from the ring and the referee raises her hand on the ringside floor. Tara is pissed as she gets to her feet in the ring and stares at Hanna in shock. The crowd cheers and they only get louder as Crystal Hilton walks out onto the top of the ramp with the Evolution title over her shoulder and a grin on her face as she shakes her head.

Showtime: HANNA ELLIOT WON! SHE GOT THE WIN OVER TARA THUNDER?!

CCM: WHAT A HELL OF AN UPSET, BUT LOOK AT WHO’S ON THE RAMP!

Showtime: Crystal seems amused that Tara lost here but I can’t believe it! Hanna beat her?

CCM: Hanna gets the win here tonight and you HAVE to wonder what kind of state of mind this puts Tara in going into her title match!

===========================

Crystal Hilton might have been amused then, but she certainly wasn’t three weeks later when Tara beat her to win the Evolution Championship, and go onto hold the belt for eight months.  Her first defense?  Hanna Elliot of course, but history wasn’t going to repeat itself this time, and Tara walked out with a fairly easy victory.  The two would have a rubber match eight months later, with Tara walking out the victor yet again.

That second match would prove Hanna’s only title shot with FFW, as she would flounder for the next two years, her only other notable win coming over Vanessa Cade, which more or less destroyed Cade’s career.  After her seventh consecutive loss (and tenth in twelve matches) Elliot quietly departed the company in September of 2013.

Tara never let the loss to Elliot hold her down with anything, as she’s amassed two lengthy title reigns, and is almost a surefire future Hall of Famer.  She will also be entering a triple threat elimination match at Chaos Theory hoping to earn her second chance at the FFW Championship. Whatever this woman's opinions on Future Shock might be, she's at least earned the chops to have the right to say her piece.

FUTURE SHOCK THERAPY: EPISODE 17.3 RECAP

NOT THAT WE'RE COMPARING CLAIRE TO ROCKY OR ANYTHING...
The Steele Stranglehold on the season has been broken!

It was a wild, crazy and controversial night last night on Future Shock, featuring three gutsy performances and one, well, kind of chickenshit one.  Most notable of last night’s was Claire Black’s… we don’t want to call it dominance, but it was still a fantastic performance from the Bostonian, going through all  three women in the gauntlet match on her own..  Erica’s performance was gutty as all hell, and Kate’s was, well, more 2013 Kate than 2015.

So now with the penultimate challenge behind us the question comes up- who’s going on, and who’s heading home?   Let’s round them up!

6TH PLACE: Freya Kane (Eliminated)
5TH PLACE: Stacey (Eliminated)

#4 VALENTINA LOZANO (ON THE HOT SEAT): If this isn’t the end of Valentina Lozano, I’ll be utterly amazed.  She carried the second-highest vote total in last week’s elimination, and did absolutely nothing to change people’s minds in that regard.  Maybe theres some really sick people that actually enjoyed her going ballistic and attacking both Claire and Kate, but you could probably count those on one hand.  Fact of the matter is, Valentina needed to impress, and she came off as a mediocre ragebaby.  To hell with her.

#3 ERICA HORTON: Erica’s proving to be quite the Houdini in Future Shock, managing to stay just ahead of the dreaded cutline each time.  It’ll be interesting to see what the perception of last night for her was going forward.  One on hand, it was a fantastic, gutty fight against Claire that saw her escape elimination several time, and literally miss out on winning by inches.  On the other hand, should it have ever even come to that, considering she walked out to a half-dead Claire, only neediing to toss her over the top rope?  Either way, her duplicating the sympathy no-vote she managed to pull off in the wake of Episode 2 will prove almost impossible.

#2 KATE STEELE (AMNESTY): After two weeks of sheer domination, Kate looked extremely vulnerable last night, although you can credit that to the robotic shit-stomping machine Isis Morales.  And while it’s pretty obvious that Valentina’s going out next Tuesday the question remains- does she take Kate’s amnesty card with her?  It’d be absolute bullshit if she did- Kate’s done nothing to meriit losing amnesty, and even showed a level of sportsmanship we haven’t seen before when she ran out to help Claire- something that might have cost her this match.  But there’s a lot of people out there that would vote it away just because they could, without much of an excuse.  These people are terrible, and you should avoid them.

#1 CLAIRE BLACK: I won’t go so far as to say Claire’s performance in episode 3 was the best single performance in Future Shock history, but its probably in the Top 5.  Already battered and beaten thanks to a brawl with Arabella less than forty-eight hours prior, she survived three women and a mob jumping to push through to win the challenge from the worst possible draw.  For someone entering the week in a meh position and needing to make an impact, Claire made a MASSIVE one, and it might prove something that not only pushes her through the next checkpoint, but all the way into the finals.

Alright guys.  You’ve seen the show.  You’ve read the expert analysis!  Now it’s your chance to vote!  Head over here: http://ffw.freesmfhosting.com/index.php/topic,3658.0.html  and make democracy happen!

FOUR CORNERS: Velocity 2.13.15 (Atlanta, GA)

ITS PROBABLY IN THERE SOMEWHERE!

I was going to say “News and notes from one of the most controversial Velocities in FFW History”... but then I started to think.

Is it really controversial if everyone and their little sister agrees it was entirely 100% bullshit?

You can leave that one for the philosophers.  Here’s some Four Corners.

#1: SO... THAT JUST HAPPENED
Ever since Isabella Pazzini’s appointment as Commissioner of the Ultraviolence Division, she and Chief Operations Officer Cody Kincaid have been engaged in a war, not just for control of Femme Fatale Wrestling as a company, but for the hearts and minds of the FFW Faithful, but also the locker room and personnell.  Behind the scenes, Isabella was having a grand amount of success.  The locker room still favors Kincaid, but Pazzini’s gotten herself a larger following than was originally expected.  In addition, her backstage political maneuvers have by and large gone off without a hitch, much to Mr. Kincaid’s frustration, including a cold-stone kiboshing of a No Surrender themed event that’s left the division stewing.

In the public eye though, it’s been all Cody.  The fans overwhelmingly support him, and will likely continue to do so.  In addition, any power play Isabella’s attempted with booking- namely sticking one of Kincaid’s supporters in an Ultraviolence Themed match- has backfired catastrophically.  It’s not a coincidence that the attack on Cody happened after Caroline Stark put Pazzini favorite Emma MacNamara through two tables.  Bella had to have realized it was coming- it’s Killer Fucking C for God’s sakes, and planned a contingency face save accordingly.

But in doing so, she’s lit a fuse that can’t be easily extinguished, and is sizzling straight at a massive pile of gunpowder.  It’s one thing for political maneuvering in the backstage and a war of insults over twitter and the microphone.  It’s another openly lure your adversary into a steel cage and attack him unprovoked.  Already she’s got three people out for her head, and it won’t be surprising at all to see more of the locker room join in.

More, but not all.  Because it’s also going to be interesting to see who steps forward as an apologist for Pazzini… or even an outright supporter.  It seems unfathomable that someone would come forward and defend the indefensible, but we have some pretty sick women on our roster who’d be willing to do it- even if just for the notoriety it would bring.

But there’s one other factor here to consider- the Boss Lady, Samantha Star herself.  Samantha was not in attendance last night, but apparently was watching live, and even if she hadnt, there’s no way in hell she wouldn’t be hearing about this immediately afterwards.  And we all remember what Samantha said at Isabella’s performance review- if anyone got hurt on her watch, she’d be held responsible for it.

Well… someone got hurt.  On Isabella Pazzini’s watch, and even more apalling, by her own hands.  They might be friends, but there absolutely has to be consequences, or else Samantha runs the risk of losing her hard fought credibility with pretty much everyone.  She’s got to do something.

Chances are, that something’s going to be at Chaos Theory, which means we’re in for a long two weeks of speculation, frustration and bitterness.

#2: NO PAIN FOR THE CO-MAIN
All three women scheduled to be in the #1 Contenders match at Chaos Theory were in action last night, with two of them winning.  The one who didn’t?  Crystal Hilton, who also took the most understandable of the losses, teaming with a Jenny who’s just been… off lately to take on Dark Fantasy, who are becoming more and more of a threat to the Unity Champions with each match.  It wasn’t entirely how Crystal wanted to go into the PPV and what might be the biggest match of her career, but it’s not the end of the world either.

Mika beat current co-#1 Contender Valerie Lamb in a rematch of their last encounter in July. It wasn’t entirely on the level- Mika engaged in a weird obsession with pulling Val’s hair, and damn near ripped her pants off with that hold at the end, but The World’s Most Annoying Pinko got the job done, for good or ill.  She was the clear-cut favorite in the #1 Contenders match to begin with… and she didn’t do anything to change things at all last night.

And then there’s Tara Thunder, who entered the night at risk of going on her first-ever three match losing streak.  Didn’t happen, and we saw a Thunder that was more focused, more driven, and more vicious than anything we’ve seen from her since May.  It’s the kind of performance that would have made both Crystal and Mika go ‘uh oh’, and it evens her odds up tremendously going into a match that basically will save her hopes of competing for FFW’s highest championship.

But, possibly bigger than that, it keeps the Triple Threat a Triple threat.  Had Tara succumbed to Jodie, it would have turned into another four-way, and there’d just be more possibilities and contingencies to deal with.  Now, that’s one less body to worry about, and that’s three women breathing easier.

As far as Jodie goes…

#3: PURE ADRENALINE IS PURE GUTS
Both members of PA were in action last night too, in singles competition.  The spazzes with flat azzes haven’t teamed together in a while, and in fact are currently rivals for the same title belt, but all accounts seem to still be on good terms.

Still, Misty can’t have felt ALL that great about Kate Steele walking into the division, knocking off Easter, and getting herself a shot, while Misty herself has been somewhat lost in the shuffle (we haven’t even seen her in the ring since October).  Still, she’s gotta be feeling quite a bit better after last night when she pinned Valentina Lozano.  It’s a huge win for her, not only does it give her a much needed jolt, but in defeating Lozano, she’s knocked off an upcoming challenger for the belt.  That’s going to rocket her up the rankings, and set up a possible shot for her in the future.

And then there’s Kate, who pulled out all the stops in an amazing win over sister Samara.  It’s a huge momentum builder with the PPV just around the corner, but even more than that, it has to be cathartic for Kate, who’s been bullied by Samara almost nonstop for the past two and a half years, to finally stick it to her abusive sibling.  Samara was so convinced we were going to see Kate pull a Kate (the bad kind) that she didn’t even consider that Kate was going to, well, pull a Kate (the good kind)

Kate now enters Chaos Theory firing on all cylinders, although the question of whether or not she can down Aimee a second time is a very valid one (although she might not have to).  Misty won’t be wrestling at Chaos Theory, but after things are settled there, it won’t be surprising to see some more action coming from her beginning in March.

So the question is… could we honest to god be looking at a Pure Adrenaline showdown over the Evolution Championshp in the near future?   Too early to say for certain, of course, but the pieces are at least on the board, if not in the right places yet.  but if we do end up getting it, well… ho-lee shit.

#4: SO, ABOUT THAT BELT, IGNIS
...Actually, you know what?  I’m not even gonna go there.  There’s really no way you can possibly intelligently respond to what we just saw from Megan Leavenworth, and if Gabby’s convinced she’s got the right belt, that’s good enough for me.

But good lord this is getting out of hand.  We’ve had vicious wrestlers.  We’ve had idiot wrestlers.  We’ve had insane wrestlers.  Never before have all three traits been so neatly packaged into one Welsh redhead.

At least she’s not scheduled to compete at Chaos Theory, which she has dubbed Ignis Theory out of… who the hell knows.

Of course that means she’s going to have a lot of free time.

Which is probably when she’s going to have ideas pop iinto her head.

Which means something horrible’s going to happen.

Uh oh.

UP NEXT: CHAOS THEORY!  Look for in depth match previews to come in the coming days!   Anyone who wants to chip in with some of their own analaysis is welcome to contact me!  Holy crap it gon’ be epic!

WAYBACK WEDNESDAYS #5: The Match That Changed EVERYTHING

Alright, folks.  We’re finally done with the Cold Blooded homage, and ready to branch out into the wide, open world of non-January wrestling.

Although it’ll be only appropriate if we pay one last visit to One Night Stand in a couple of weeks.  Hint hint.

Anyways, just a couple of days ago, on the fan forums, I introduced the concept of the Lineal Championship- a belt that could only change hands by a challenger pinning the champion.  It could only be on a pinfall, submission, or knockout, but it didn’t matter what match type it happened in- one on one, tag, triple threat, whatever.

You can view the full rules and title history here: http://ffw.freesmfhosting.com/index.php/topic,3638.msg13282.html#new

Notice that the title’s NOT going to be defended tomorrow night.  That match is a tables match (x2!), and there aren’t any official falls in there.

You might notice a trend here.  The lineal championship follows the FFW Championship pretty closely to begin with, for about the first year and a half.  Only once does it deviate, thanks to a pinfall in a Unity Championship match where Val pinned then-champion Emma. It’d hop over to Scarlett, where it would be reunited with the top belt once she beat Isabella Pazzini for the Championship at Full Frontal.

And then October 29, 2011, it leaves the FFW Champion and never ever comes back.

Again, the culprits a Unity Championship match, oddly again involving Katherine Stryfe, who entered the match as the first double champion in FFW history, holding both the FFW Championship and the Unity Championship as part of the Eternal Flame.  But this one created a MUCH more bizarre situation than the previous one.  The woman doing the pinning and thus gaining the lineage- Arianna Millar- had only made her FFW debut nine days prior!

It’s one of the most remarkable rises in FFW history.  After winning Season 4 of Future Shock, Desirae Kain had a choice to make on which belt she would challenge for.  Instead of taking a normal singles title, she elected to go after the Unity belts, and recruited Arianna to the cause.  Millar, who’d really only ever been in SVW’s controversial T&A division, was an odd choice of partners, but hey, she liked pink.

And after a warmup match on October 20 against the Danger Queens, the aptly named Pink Inc made their move.  And the rest, as they say… is history.

============
BREAKING POINT #24- PORTLAND, OREGON- OCTOBER 29, 2011
(Match written by John)
Ben: The following match is scheduled for one fall and is for the FFW UNITY TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP!!

“Happy Boys & Girls” by Aqua hits the PA, and the crowd cheer. Desirae & Arianna walk out, raising an arm each before twirling. Desirae charges the ring as Arianna skips happily down behind her, both sliding under the bottom rope. They climb adjacent turnbuckles, waving to the crowd.

Ben: Introducing first the challengers, at a combined weight of 261lbs, the team of Arianna Millar and the Future Shock Season 4 Champion, Desirae Kain... PINK INC!!!

Mark: Desirae Kain claims the prize she won in Future Shock tonight and surprised just about everyone by going outside the company to bring in Arianna Millar as her partner.

Erica: They beat the Danger Queens last time they were on FFW Television and they couldn’t ask for a much better warm up than that.

As the haunting melody of "The Crow and The Butterfly" begins to play over the pa system, the arena dims down as purple and pink strobe lights dance around ringside. Up on the rampway, the shadows of two females could be seen. The crowd gives out a mix reaction as two spotlights showcase Katherine and Rebbecca, the two ladies slowly make their way to ringside, ignoring the fans and once they reach the ring, they both roll under the ropes and slid on their knees letting out primal screams.

Ben: Their opponents at a combined weight of 212lbs they are the FFW UNITY TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS, the team of Rebbecca Valentine and the reigning FFW CHAMPION Katherine Stryfe.. ETERNAL FLAME!!!

Mark: Last time we saw the Tag Team Champions in action, they were on the wrong end of the decision against Bounce & Pounce at Byte This!

Erica: Tonight they have all the gold on the line and they’ll not want to be part of an upset again.

As the bell rings, Katherine Stryfe steps out of the ring leaving Rebbecca Valentine to face off with Desirae Kain to start the match off. Moving toward each other the pair lock up going back and forth before Valentine manages to exploit her slight height and weight advantage to force Kain onto the back foot, toward the ropes. As they reach them Kain shifts her weight slightly to turn it to her advantage and leaps onto the ring ropes delivering a springboard arm drag only to see Valentine land on her feet and take off toward the opposite ring ropes. Coming back with a clothesline that Kain ducks underneath and takes off into the ring ropes only to see Valentine stop, turn and catch Kain with a dropkick that knocks her to the mat.

MH: Valentine starts the match and I have a feeling in this defence she’s going to have to do all the heavy lifting. Kitty did quite the number on Kat’s knee in her FFW Championship defence and she can’t possibly be one hundred percent tonight.

EH: The price of being a double champion - just like the price of eating a dodgy takeaway is a night talking on the porcelain telephone.

Valentine gets to her feet a hair before Kain, and shows no mercy as she lays into one half of the challengers with a series of rapid fire blows before hooking her head and delivering a snap suplex. Again Valentine is back on her feet almost immediately and drives an elbow into Kain’s chest and makes the cover.

MH: Valentine’s trying to steal this one early, maybe a little too early?

One...

EH: If she steals it then it’s a short day, otherwise, well she’s still in control and hasn’t lost a thing.

Tw-Kickout!

As Kain kicks out, Valentine is once again all over here, pulling her up to her feet, driving knees into her and doubling her up only to drive her head first into the mat with a DDT. As Kain is pulled to her feet she tries to mount some offence driving a forearm into Valentine’s stomach again and again, breaking free she runs to the ring ropes but it all turns out to be for naught as she is immediately taken back down to the mat with a Japanese arm drag. As the pair hit the mat, Valentine rolls backward into the mount position on Kain and begins to drive her fists into the challengers face, before wrapping both hands around her throat, breaking the choke at the referee’s count of four. Ignoring the referee’s reprimand, Valentine continues the attack as she drags Kain to her feet, locks in the side head lock and walks her over to the Eternal Flame corner, tagging in Katherine Stryfe.

MH: A quick tag for Eternal Flame. These two ladies have held the tag titles for a long time and their additional experience is starting to show it’s benefits.

EH: This is where we get to ask serious questions over Kat’s health in this one - and I don’t mean ‘Who let the dogs out?’

Katherine quickly joins her trainee in grasping Kain and lifting her up and dropping her backwards with a double suplex. As Valentine leaves the ring, Stryfe gets up to her feet and climbs up the inside turnbuckle to the middle rope and delivers a leg drop across Kains throat.Pulling Kain up to her feet, Stryfe delivers an open hand slap across her cheek before snapmaring her into a sitting position and delivering a flipping front neckbreaker, using her momentum to get to her feet and delivers a dropkick to her face, once more sending her backward onto the mat. Stryfe hooks the leg and makes the cover.

MH: Another pin by the Eternal Flame and Desirae is in trouble, the Future Shock Champion is being dominated by the FFW Champion and her tag partner.

One...

EH: Kain has heart, we saw it in the Future Shock final and that’s the reason that she’s even here tonight.

Two...

...TH-Kickout!!

Kain manages to kick out and manages to get to her feet as Stryfe hangs back, sizing her up and absolutely nailing her as soon as she is vertical with a spinning heel kick that sees Kain keel backwards, hitting the mat hard. Stryfe is far from finished though as she takes hold of the ankle and drags her back to the Eternal Flame corner and tags in her partner. Once more, Kain is on the receiving end of a double attack as both members of the Eternal Flame deliver leg drops on the downed girl. Pulling her to her feet, Valentine sets Kain up again into a Half Nelson suplex. Once more Kain is pulled to her feet and sent into a neutral corner, Valentine making the quick tag to Stryfe and gets into position as Stryfe charges in and leapfrogs over Valentine into a splash only for Kain to telegraph it and get her feet up, driving boot leather into the FFW Champions face. As the tag champions collide, Kain steps up onto the ropes and delivers an enzugiri to the back of Katherine’s head that sends her onto all fours allowing Kain to use her as a stepping stone to leap onto Rebbecca’s shoulder and snap off a hurricanrana. As Kain gets to her feet, she spies Kat making her way up from her knees and stops her in her tracks with a rolling liger kick trapping Stryfe against the turnbuckle. Kain manages to make it to her feet as Stryfe staggers in the corner and takes the opportunity to deliver a Tornado DDT.

MH: More good teamwork from Eternal Flame, exchanging quick tags and cutting the ring in two. Ari’s pretty much a spectator, but the moment she gets in the ring, Eternal Flame are in huge trouble, I can tell.

EH: You can tell?

MH: Yeah, a wife gives off certain signs that a husband has to learn to pick up on if he wants to survive.

Lying back on the mat, Kain takes a couple of second to gather herself, before rolling onto her front and crawling toward her corner, she makes the tag to Arianna Millar who hits the ring as Stryfe gets up to her knees and charges at the FFW Champion diving from her feet as she approaches and into a shoulder block, rolling backward and makes the pin.

MH: Here we go!! Business is pinking up right here!!

One..

EH: Arianna has Katherine Stryfe reeling. She can spell upset right?

Two...

...NO!!

Katherine Stryfe kicks out of the pin attempt as Arianna Millar pulls her up and into an Atomic Drop, quickly followed by a dropkick to her shoulder blades that causes Stryfe to hit the ropes chest first, Arianna rolling her up into a school girl pin as she bounces back.

EH: This is it! Ari’s going to do it!! I tell you this is the end of the match! NEW CHAMPIONS!! Remember I called it now!! Violent Femmes, Jo - are you watching? This is your future bitches!!

One...

MH: Erm.. She is in there with the FFW Champion, you know. Stryfe’s didn’t get there by being a push over to beat you know. In fact she’s a pretty tough competitor!

Two...

...NO!!

Stryfe again kicks out, sending Millar into the ropes and as Pink Perfection comes back, Stryfe delivers a drop toe hold sending Arianna face first into the mat. The two girls get to their feet at the same time, Arianna tries to get the upperhand by unleashes a vicious slap to Stryfe’s chest, only to be the recipient of a similar blow from one half of the Tag Champions. Again and again and again they exchange blows, before Stryfe gets the upperhand and attempts to land a spinning neck breaker only for Arianna to push her away and counter with a swinging neckbreaker of her own. Arianna wastes no time as she pulls Kat up into a jawbreaker. Quickly she moves into her own corner and tags Desirae back in. With Stryfe getting to her feet, both members of Pink Inc deliver a dropkick to her and pull her up, Millar lifting her up into a slingshot suplex, driving her opponent into the mat as Kain springboards of the ring ropes and lands a moonsault onto the champion, holding on for the pin.

MH: Good tag work from Pink Inc. The Violent Femmes and Jo McFarlane won’t know what hit them at the next Breaking Point!

One...

EH: For now though Pink Inc. had better concentrate - just like Orange Juice - on the Eternal Flame otherwise the Violent Femmes and Jo will just be meeting the Flames latest victims.

Two...

...THRE-NO!!

Rebbecca Valentine makes the save as she enters the ring and drops an elbow right to the back of Desirae’s head, causing her to roll off and out of the pin, holding the back of her head in pain. Valentine is ushered out of the ring as Desirae manages to get to her feet and looks to put Stryfe away with a standing moonsault - only for Stryfe to get her knees up. Kicking her legs as she holds her midsection, Desirae rolls onto the apron meanwhile Stryfe crawls toward her corner. As she dives and makes the tag Desirae is pulling herself up to her feet on the apron. As Valentine approaches, Desirae drives her shoulder into her midsection three times, before finally standing up straight and catapults herself back into the ring, delivering a flying forearm into her face. From her back, Desirae kips up straight into a hurricanrana. Desirae makes the pin once more.

MH: Stryfe managed to get out there and Rebbecca Valentine finds herself in the firing line.

One...

EH: Desirae doesn’t seem to care who is in there with her, she’s ruling the roost right now.

Two...

...THR-NO!!

Desirae pulls Rebbecca to her feet and looks to whip her into the ropes only for Rebbecca to reverse it and send Desirae into the ropes where she leaps onto the second rope with a springboard spear.

MH: Overnight Sensation!! Desirae’s picking up the win after Arianna got the ball rolling for her team.

EH: NO!! She saw that one from so far away she had time to write herself a letter and get it delivered to herself by the Post Office and move out of the way! Valentine’s turned the match on it’s head!!

Valentine does indeed have it scouted, side-stepping the spear and taking Desirae down with a facebuster. With both girls down, the referee starts a ten count, both women responding on three as try to make their way to their respective corners. Valentine getting their first and tagging in Stryfe who tries to get to Desirae and pull her up short, managing to grab her ankle in the nick of time. As Kat pulls her back, Kain gets to one foot and hops up and down as she still reaches for the tag and lashes out with a kick to the left knee of Stryfe that takes it out from under her, sending her to one knee. Getting her feet under her once more, Desirae steps up onto Stryfe’s bended knee and delivers a huge shining wizard to the back of her head. Landing she pushes off from the mat and makes the tag to Arianna who charges right across the ring, landing a dropkick to Rebbecca as she is between the ropes entering the ring sending her to the outside. Meanwhile Desirae pulls Stryfe up, lifting her into a suplex and placing her onto Arianna’s shoulders before running into the ropes, hitting a huge cutter as Arianna slams Kat into the mat. As  Arianna hooks both legs and rolls her up in a pinfall, Desirae gets to her feet and once more heads to the ropes diving over the top of them with a moonsault that causes Rebbecca to crash into the barricade. The referee slides into position and makes the pin.

EH: Desirae exploited Stryfe’s knee injury!

MH: PINK EXPRESS!! Kat Stryfe’s been drilled into the mat! Pink Inc. might have just snapped her in two!! She is NOT kicking out after that!!

EH: Moonsault!! Desirae’s making sure Rebbecca stays outside and can’t save her partner!

One...

Two...

….THREE!!!

EH: Millar picks up the win!! She’s pinned the FFW Champion!! This is a MAMMOTH upset!!

Ben: Your winners, via pinfall...and NEW FFW UNITY TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS, the team of “Pink Perfection” Arianna Millar and Desirae Kain... PINK INC!!!

MH: Eternal Flame have been shellshocked here tonight!! Once again they are on the wrong end of an upset!!

EH: She may have had an assist from Desir- What the Hell?!?!

No sooner had the announcement been made did Ben find himself dispossed of both his microphone and his seat as Colleen and Arabella climbed over the barrier. Arabella immediately slid into the ring, with the steel chair in hand and as the referee raises Arianna’s hand the Future Shock rookie taps the chair on the mat and the moment Arianna turns around she crashes the steel into the side of her head, spinning her around and sending blood flying as she dropped to the mat. Arabella immediately switching focus and repeatedly slamming the chair into the body of Katherine Stryfe - in particular her knee and head.

MH: NO!!! NO!!!! The Violent Femmes are here and they are ruining Pink Inc’s victory party!! This is a disgrace! Where the hell’s security?!? We need them down here NOW!!

EH: Look at that chair!! It’s so dented it looks like Arabella hit a picasso painting!!

Meanwhile on the outside, Colleen attacks Desirae with the microphone, before picking up Rebbecca and dropping her throat first over the barricade, then choking her using the steel. As the Eternal Flame stops struggling, Colleen lets her go and goes back to Desirae once more
driving the microphone into her forehead, followed by a number of stern right hooks, before rolling her back into the ring and following her in. As she pulls her to her feet, she calls over to Arabella who is stomping away on Arianna and the Italian measures up for a chair shot that never comes as Wendy Briese hits the ring at a sprint to a huge pop from the crowd and yanks the chair away from Arabella. Tossing the chair to one side she drives her foot into Arabella’s gut doubling her up and delivers a gutwrench power bomb to her.

MH: YES!! WENDY IS IN THE HOUSE!!! FFW’s White Knight is making the save!! Desirae, Wendy and Ari are owning the Violent Femmes right here, right now and that’s after winning the tag titles in an hellacious encounter!!

EH: And now the set’s complete - Jo McFarlane’s incoming!! Wendy better watch her back here.

MH: It’s breaking down right here but Ari’s stirring and the odds are evening up now!!

Colleen pushes away Desirae and meets the rising Wendy with a barrage of right hands that Wendy returns in kind, the crowd exploding it a huge boo as Jo McFarlane rolls into the ring, twirling her kendo stick and swings it violently into Wendy’s back. Colleen doesn’t let up the shots on Wendy as Jo again fires in another kendo stick shot on the red head - at least not until Desirae gets to her feet, catching her arm and spinning The Franchise around and straight into a jumping kick to her chest. Arianna manages to recover and tackles Jo from behind, sending the kendo stick flying as Arabella manages to get to her feet, holding her back as she goes after Wendy Briese only for security to hit the ring en masse and pull the opposing factions apart.

MH: Security and the 82nd Airborne are in the ring and just about managing to keep the peace. There’s no love lost between these six! The fuse is let and at Breaking Point this Powder Keg’s going to provide a bigger kaboom than any pyro Mr. Showtime ever let off!!

The chaos in the ring continues as Breaking Point fades off the air.

============

One hell of a brawl finished the show, to boot!

Sadly, Arianna’s reign as the lineal champion would only last two weeks.  At the next Breaking Point, she would be pinned by Jo McFarlane in a trios match, who would take control of the title.  Desirae Kain would actually gain the lineage herself for a bit over a month after a win over Kaitlynn Stryfe in early may, but surrender it to Wendy Briese in June, a match also notable for kicking off a monstrous 14-match winless streak that proved the beginning of the end of poor Desirae’s career.

Pink Inc, though, would hold onto the championships until Cold Blooded 2012, when they lost the belts to Bounce & Pounce.  However, after Bounce & Pounce would be stripped of the belts 18 days later, Ari and Desi would shine again when they won a triple threat match at Chaos Theory to reclaim the belts.  Sadly, their second reign would be mired in tension and distrust, with the two girls turning on each other almost immediately after losing the belts to Team Adonis.  Today, neither woman is in FFW, although Arianna’s in SVW, now with the surname Manning, having divorced from husband Johnathan “Crazy Crazy” Millar.

Kat Stryfe would lose her other title to Stacey a month later at Violent Night, and The Eternal Flame would make an unsuccessful rematch attempt for the belts in December, then quietly split apart to go amiably in their own directions.  Rebbecca Valentine would struggle, eventually departing the company less than a year later.  Katherine Stryfe would also struggle for a time, but would regroup to win the Evolution Championship, becoming the first ever Grand Slam champion in the process, before she too would depart, only to make a recent return just a few days ago.

The lineal championship is now enjoying it’s third reign with Caroline Stark.

FOUR CORNERS: Breaking Point 2.7.15 (Charlotte, NC)

THIS IS WORTH ALMOST AS MUCH AS FFW IS.  I'M NOT JOKING.

See that painting up above?  The one with two Tahitian girls by Paul Gauguin entitled “When will you marry?”  Yeah, that one.

Qatar just bought it for $300 million, making it the most expensive painting ever.

Suddenly, that “seven-figure” salary Stacey’s making doesn’t seem so bad now, does it?

Here’s your Four Corners

#1: ALL ABOARD!
Not since the Danger Queens themselves debuted has an incoming tag team gotten as much hype as the Burning Star Express.  As into the BSX as the crowd was, part of you wants to wonder why they didn’t go ahead and make it the main event.  The BSX was as almost fired up as the crowd was, and while they didn’t turn in the most flawless, mistake-free performance against ICWT, they delivered enough to get the win, and start their careers off on the right foot.  It’s a long way up the ladder, and there’s many teams that can derail the train- starting with the Rudos in three weeks at Chaos Theory.  But it was a hell of a first act.

And it’s going to be really interesting to see how the debut of the BSX measures up compared to the debut (actually, return) of another long-awaited tag team in FFW, who will be making an impact in the coming weeks- Nightmare Inc, reforming after a five-year hiatus.

And if the BSX can live up to their hype, and Nightmare Inc up to theirs, it’s very likely that those two squads are going to collide at some point in their trip up the ladder to the titles.  It’s a long way off, and no means certain- after all, the BSX has a stiff challenge coming up in the Rudos, and the Nightmare reunion might just end up going as well as the Spectra Fantasia one did.  But with the fanfare both teams are receiving, teams up on the totem pole better take note.  It’s their ass that’s in the crosshairs.

#2: ROTTEN PEACH
Poor Jo McFarlane.  One week after running into the human buzzsaw known as Caroline Stark, and coming away looking fairly impressive in defeat, she runs into another woman who’s just racking up the wins, and comes away looking… well, screwed.  Jo had Neveah dead to rights in the LaBell lock, but Silas Mason (who’s quickly approaching Alex Adonis levels of punchability here), distracted the ref, enabling Neveah to survive and eventually get the tainted win.  It’s a tough break for Jo, who’s had a rough start to 2015 after finishing 2014 on a blazing note, but at least she can get a few moments to catch her breath before dealing with her next challenge- retaining that title against Starla.

But for Neveah though… well, she’s now on a seven match winning streak.  But it’s hard to take her actions Saturday night- both before the match and during it- as anything but the actions of a desperate woman who’s only now realizing what she’s getting herself into.  It’s clear from her actions and mannerisms that Neveah thought that being Television Champion- arguably the lowest division on the totem pole in FFW- was going to be all fun and games and photoshoots.  Obviously that’s not the case, as any other former TV Champion in this company could attest to.

But the fact that Leona Vega- who hasn’t been seen in an FFW ring since JUNE, is pushing her this far over the edge says something.  Keep in mind- Leona’s not even getting a title shot at Chaos Theory.  Neveah’s walking out the TV Champion no matter what here, but you wouldn’t know it from the desperation tactics she’s employing in luring the Lioness into a backstage trap.  What the hell is Neveah going to do when the actual contenders to her belt show up (which could very well include Leona herself)?

It’s yet another shining example of how damned tough things are here in FFW.  Not even the TV division or Future Shock division is a cakewalk, and to a fledgling champion not used to it- it can hit you hard.

#3: CROWLEY RISING
I think we all know here that I’m not Sylvia’s biggest fan, and it’s understandable given the history between her girlfriend and I.  But you gotta give credit where credit is due, and the fact of the matter is that Sylvia’s hitting her stride at exactly the right time.  That win over Kate Steele- one of the best UV Champs this company has seen (don’t laugh)- at Anarchy was a huge kick in the rear for Crowley’s momentum, and she furthered it by laying Leah O’Quinn out last night.

So now everyone knows what’s next for Sylvia- she cashes in her Pick Your Poison on the Ultaviolence Champion Destiny Campbell in a Falls Count Anywhere match.  A win in that, and she’s propelled to the front of the UV line with a title shot of her own, although the odds of beating Destiny Campbell TWICE certainly isn’t as good as it is to get one quick win on her.  It’s a big match for Syl, one that has even deeper career implications than Metal Mayhem did.  The pressure’s on.

Or is it?

Don’t get me wrong- I’m hardly recommending that Sylvia take Destiny lightly, but Chaos Theory is hardly the end all be all for her immediate Ultraviolence Division hopes.  Should she stumble against Destiny, two weeks later, she goes into a Thunderdome against Caroline Stark, who, UV or no, is one of the toughest outs in the entire company.  But considering that Caroline’s gone full-steam against division kingpin Isabella Pazzini, Sylvia being tasked to do this is basically performing a personal favor to the Diva of Extreme.   And considering Sylvia’s already done one “personal favor” in beating Kate Steele, a win over Caroline might just serve the same purpose one over Destiny does.

If anything, that should help Syl as she enters Chaos Theory- everything’s not on the line, there is more than likely a backup plan for her.  That should make her looser, and more prone to taking risks.  And in the UV division, its all about taking the risks that can lead to a big payout.

#4: SOPHIE LIVES!
Anyone watching the current saga of Jodie Gray has to shake their heads and laugh when they think back to last year.  After all, the entire sequence got played out before just a year ago.  Sophie Richards got the chance of a lifetime when she won a lucky lottery to face FFW Champion Wendy Briese in a match (although Wendy would be dethroned two weeks before the contest).  Sophie would go on to lose in a very gutsy, heart-driven performance that left people talking, and she was summarily granted a second opportunity to make it big, against Valerie Lamb.  She won.

And her “reward” was to disappear for five months.   Ouch.

Sophie hasn’t entirely lit the world on fire since her return in August. She lost to eventual-winner Crystal Hilton in the first round of the Femme For All, and then dropped another toughie to Mel Avilo in November.  Any momentum she’d gotten over from the Briese and Lamb matches was long since dead, and once again Sophie was floating lifeless in the water.

Until last night.

The win over Summer was huge for multiple reasons- first of all, it avenges a TV title loss Sophie had to her three years ago.  But more than that- Summer is solidly in contention in the Evolution Division and is just over two months removed from a failed shot against Aimee Easter.  Furthermore, she was rallying, turning things around in the wake of a slight skid with a strong win over Kaylee Clarke, and Sophie managed to leap up into that fray and get the win for herself.

Sophie’s always been one of FFW’s strongest talents, and there was a time after her (then) record setting Television Championship reign that she might one day ascend the ladder to the top belt in the company, and last night proved that she’s still got it.  But Sophie’s been her worst enemy at times, and has allowed her momentum to stall out at the worst possible moments for her.  She can’t afford to let this become another false start- she’s gotta grab that brass ring.  It’s now or never for her.

UP NEXT: LAST STOP BEFORE CHAOS THEORY!  Val loses to Mika, then becomes champion by default as both Wendy and Scarlett’s heads explode!  Sister on sister action NOT written by Mickey Scarborough!  Remember when Tara Thunder shat on the entire Future Shock roster?  I bet Jodie does!   Caroline and Emma double the tables, double the fun!  Hey, look!  It’s Misty Whitmore WAIT NO DON’T THROW HER OUT OF THE BUILDING SHE REALLY DOES STILL WORK HERE!

POWER X (February 2015)

It could be ten, but then again, I can't remember half an hour since a quarter to four.
Throw on your clothes, the second side of Surfer Rosa, and you leave me with my jaw on the floor.
Just when you think that you're in control,
just when you think that you've got a hold,
just when you get on a roll,
here it goes, here it goes, here it goes again.
Oh, here it goes again.
I should have known,
should have known,
should have known again,
but here it goes again.
Oh, here it goes again.
-      “Here It Goes Again” -OK Go

Oh, its good to be doing this again!

After almost a full year, the monthly Power X has returned, and well, do we have some surprises in store for you.  The votes are tabulated, the logorhythms set, the XPuter debugged, and we are rearin’ to go.

Since it’s been a year, should refresh everyone on how this works.  Wrestlers are ranked based on wins and losses, titles held, tournaments won, booking frequency, overall impact on the company as a whole.  Every eligible wrestler is ranked, and eligible wrestlers are

1: Members of the active roster who have either competed in the past two months, or are imminently booked on an upcoming show.
2: Wrestlers who have left FFW, but wrestled their last match in the past month.  These are considered their “Final Ranking”

All for the purposes of the Power X, December does not count as a month, with Anarchy considered a part of November.  Got it?

Good.

Sixty-five women made the cut this week, but in traditional Power X tradition, only the Top 40 get highlighted.  The rest of you get acknowledged here, in a nice, long, impersonal list.  Enjoy.

#65: ARABELLA BLACK
#64: SHIZUKA MIYAMOTO
#63: CHRYSTA
#62: STACEY
#61: ELISSA HEAFY
#60: TIFA HEAFY
#59: WENDY HOUSE
#58: INGE SCHWARZ
#57: SABINE KLOSE
#56: AMANDA GRAY
#55: LOLLIPOP
#54: SHAUGHNESSY O’NEIL
#53: CHARLOTTE HARKER
#52: KAYLEE CLARKE
#51: SAMANTHA TOLSON
#50: KANNA HAROSHI
#49: MEGAN CARAWAY
#48: STEPHANIE SULLIVAN
#47: NATALYA DEMIDOV
#46: REBECKA HATE
#45: PENNY BUCHANAN
#44: MILEENA SAVAGE
#43: MISTY WHITMORE
#42: DAWN WARREN
#41: ANGELA HINCHCLIFFE0

Don’t like where you’re ranked?  Wrestle better.  Or have more matches- you may notice that most of the newcomers factor into the above group.  Don’t take it personally, keep wrestling and you’ll  make it to the big time.  Maybe.

TOP FORTY GO!

#40: SOPHIE RICHARDS
Sophie kicks off her 2015 campaign against Summer in what’s being billed as a television title throwback rematch.  However, it goes a little more than that- both women are Evolution division competitors right now, and both need momentum garnered up for a run at the title.

#39: STARDUST
The Rudos started the year off right, picking up a solid win over the Heafy’s.   It seems weird that they haven’t had a Unity shot since their Future Shock prize cash-in, but they might be getting close with a few more wins.

#38: JEM MICHAELS
Jem’s partner just misses the cut, but Michaels sneaks on here, in the highest ranking either woman’s had in the Power-X.  And with good reason too- after a win over the Femme Fatales, Union Jacked is starting go gain traction!

#37: METEORA
The galactic showdown between the Burning Star Express and the Rudos grows ever closer, with expectations being absurdly high, considering one of the teams has yet to even wrestle.  How will the Rudos cope with the fact that there might be a team even weirder than they are?

#36: LEAH O’QUINN
Leah’s been in full on damage control mode since Saturday night thanks to the Megangate scandal backfiring on her to an almost hardcore level.  On the bright side, a match with Sylvia Crowley awaits that will shoot her into Ultraviolence contention if she can pull it off.

#35: KIMMI HATE
Kimmi’s benefitting from being a part of the New Social Elite- especially given that she’s got a television champion and Femme For All finalist to help carry the weight.  She and Neveah can move into Unity discussion if they can knock off KO/TO on Saturday.

#34: CASEY ATHERTON ***TRIOS CHAMPION***
Casey picked up the fall in the Trios Championship match to help Triple Threat vanquish the Shades once and for all.  She has not competed as a singles wrestlers since March 13 of last year.

#33: KELLY MCGUFFIN
Kelly’s attention’s slowly migrated towards SVW, probably even moreso now that her Television run is over, and she has a belt over there.  We here in FFW won’t be seeing her until after Chaos Theory, it seems.

#32: MEL AVILO
Mel’s done well to push herself into that final match for the Future Shock Cup, but she’s come close quite a few times since the end of Season Five.  It’s time for her to get it done.

#31: SAMARA STEELE
We haven’t seen Samara since she lost the Evolution Championship at Sin & Sacrifice, and now she cashes in on her rematch clause.  Doubtful she’s happy about the party being crashed- by her sister, nonetheless- but such is life.

#30: FREYA KANE
Freya closed last year on a six match winning streak, but sadly, was not to be, as she came up on the wrong end of the decision on both her matches this year, including a loss to Neveah Summers in a television title bid.  She departed the company after that loss, so this is her final ranking.

#29: LIGHTNING
Sparky finished 2014 with three big matches, but the biggest one- a shot against former tag partner Aimee Easter for the Evolution Championship- she couldn’t make do on.  Her claw back to a shot starts at Chaos Theory, when she faces Valentina Lozano.

#28: STARLA MCCLOUD
Starla’s generosity and bravery didn’t pay off for her at Anarchy, with Jo McFarlane capitalizing on the title shot that she herself offered.  The rematch was originally set for the show just before Chaos Theory, but was pushed back from some reason.   We will be having it soon, no doubt about that.

#27: SYLVIA CROWLEY
Sylvia wants Ultraviolence, and Sylvia gets Ultraviolence, wisely cashing in her Pick Your Poison on the current Champion Destiny Campbell, and a win almost certainly puts her in line for a shot.  She’s going to have to worry about Leah O’Quinn first, though.

#26: CLAIRE BLACK   ***UNITY CHAMPION***
Claire’s keeping busy with the Future Shock All-Star season, which is good, because she hasn’t been in the main roster’s ring since Sin & Sacrifice.  That changes with KO/TO taking a tough defense against Dark Fantasy at Chaos Theory, so here’s hoping she put the layoff to good use.

#25: RAVYN TAYLOR
Speaking of Dark Fantasy, we know they’ll be ready to challenge for the belts come the twenty-eighth, but they’d be unwise to overlook DreamBloom, who they face next Thursday.  Hardly a simple warmup match.

#24: IGNIS
Hopefully Ignis is enjoying the last few days she has with the Future Shock Championship belt before she’s required to turn it back in.  With the skid she’s on, its unlikely she’ll be getting it back soon, no matter how many innocent people’s arms she breaks.

#23: JENNIFER WILLIAMS ***TRIOS CHAMPION***
Jenny’s been hard at work learning how to be a Jedi, so hopefully when she faces a team called DARK Fantasy, she’ll be more than prepared to handle it.  Keep that lightsaber blue, Jennifer!

#22: UNDINE
‘Diney came heartbreakingly close at Anarchy to earning another Ultraviolence Championship opppotunity, but just came up shy.  Once the current pecking order sorts itself out, expect her to get another shot and be right back into the mix.

#21: JODIE GRAY
February is, quite simply, the biggest month of Jodie’s career.  She’s got two matches, and if she wins both, she’s got an FFW Championship shot.  And if not, well, we’ll probably still have to hear about how she belongs.

#20: SUMMER
Summer righted the ship somewhat with her win over Kaylee Clarke, and can get back under steam with a win over Sophie Richards at Breaking Point.  She’d be unwise to overlook the hungry Samantha Tolson at Chaos Theory, however.

#19: SYREN
So with Madelyne McTaggert running around the parking lot attacking various FFW personnel and giving them makeovers, you have to wonder what her former running buddy thinks of this.  Will she be ashamed of McTaggert’s actions, or will she welcome Maddie back with open arms?

#18: SERAFINA DECARO ***UNITY CHAMPION***
Serafina came through strong with a big win over Ignis at Breakdown.  It’ll be even bigger if she and Claire rally to knock off Dark Fantasy and retain their Unity titles at Chaos Theory.

#17: LILLY SHEFFIELD
Lilly continues to impress, both in the ring and with a maturity that goes far beyond her experience.  She’s not a rookie anymore, and right now, she has more potential than anyone else to rise up through the ranks to even a possible FFW Championship.

#16: DESTINY CAMPBELL ***ULTRAVIOLENCE CHAMPION***
Destiny kicked the tires, lit the fires, and slammed Emma Mac through a table to retain her UV championship.  She’s also won five of her last six, a lone blemish coming as the Art of Violence against the Rudos.

#15: CAROLINE STARK
Not bad for having just two matches since returning from injury.  We’ll be seeing a lot more of Caroline in the coming weeks, I gather, given that she’s pretty much Cody Kincaid’s official champion in his ever-intensifying rivalry with Isabella Pazzini.

#14: EMMA MACNAMARA
The last time Isabella stuck a non-UV wrestler in an Ultraviolence match against Emma to prove a point, it backfired hardcore.  Of course, Caroline isn’t nearly as fettered as Wendy Briese is, which is both good and bad for Emma Mac.  One thing that’s all good?  The reformation of Nightmare, Inc, busting into an already crowded Unity Division.

#13: TARA THUNDER
Tara’s never lost two singles matches in a row before, but she finds herself in that situation with her being pinned by Wendy in the Fatal Four Way match at Velocity.  Things are definitely tougher up at the top of the company, and Tara’s seemingly failed to bring her A-game several times now.  She best do so against Jodie, or else she’ll be eating the first three-match losing streak of her FFW career.

#12: ALYSSON GARDNER

Like she said, Aly’s victory over Jodie was her first earned fall since June, and her first in a
singles match since pinning Kate Steele- well over a year ago.  (she did beat Penny to defend her UV title, but that was in a TLC match).  With her wheels getting traction again, another run at the Evolution Championship is in order.  But can she do it, as cluttered as the division already is?

#11: GABRIELLE GARDNER ***FUTURE SHOCK CHAMPION***
What a turnaround for Gabby, who was isolated and damn near left for dead thanks to Triple Threat taking out the rest of the team and then destroying her to retain their titles.  She went from that to beating Ignis, despite being injured by a cheapshot early on. Heart- it wins you shit.  And Gabby’s got a lot of heart.

#10: VALERIE LAMB
Valerie Lamb is the FFW Challenger who just will not fucking die.  Every time you think she’s out of contention, she pulls off some miracle victory to get right back in it, and her taking down Scarlett in the Superdome is as out-of-nowhere as it gets.  Of course, now she has to go for the title itself, and that’s going to be an entirely new set of challenges.

#9: KATE STEELE
You can’t keep a good Kate down, and Kate, well, has been damn good lately.  She’s carving up Future Shock right now (which doesn’t count for these rankings, but still!).  And she just snapped a three match losing streak with a phenomenal, gutsy win over Aimee Easter.  She’s heading to Chaos Theory hoping to grab the title, and if she’s starting this year anywhere close to the way she started 2014, Aimee is in deep trouble.

#8: NEVEAH SUMMERS ***TELEVISION CHAMPION***
Neveahs’ pushed her current winning streak out to six, and can push it out further in a champion/champion showdown against Jo McFarlane on Saturday.  Easier said than done of course, but Neveah can at least enter Chaos Theory knowing her title is safe for the time being- although it sure as hell won’t be if she falls to Leona Vega.

#7: VALENTINA LOZANO
Despite earning runner-up status in the Femme For All, Valentina’s been shuffled back into the Evolution division, which is probably a better move for her at the moment.  Her road up won’t be easy too- she starts off with Misty Whitmore, and then Lightning.  Neither woman is a pushover, and both are former Television Champions, which means they’ve both had something Val’s never had: gold that can’t be bought on Rodeo Drive.

#6: MIKA DEMIDOV
Mika’s lost three of her last four, but still remains extremely dangerous, and does have a guaranteed FFW Championship coming sooner or later.  We all know she can punish people severely if they don’t manage to see her coming, but the question remains to be answered- how effective is she when they do?

#5: JO MCFARLANE  ***NO SURRENDER CHAMPION***
Despite a tough loss to Caroline Stark at Ascencion, Jo remains on a hot streak stemming from her No Surrender Championship win.  Her tour-de-force continues Saturday with Neveah Summers in a rematch that Neveah took last August.

#4: WENDY BRIESE
Wendy went down to New Orleans with a head full of nostalgia and steam, and choo-chooed her way through three of FFW’s best to earn the main event of Chaos Theory.  Her prize: an extremely miffed Scarlett Kincaid and a revitalized Val.  Enjoy!

#3: AIMEE EASTER ***EVOLUTION CHAMPION***
Despite a hiccup to Kate Steele that just made her job at Chaos Theory a hell of a lot harder, this is still a woman who’s won four of her last five, three of those matches for the Evolution Championship.  Her early 2014 struggles seem a long time ago, now.

#2: CRYSTAL HILTON  ***TRIOS CHAMPION***
Crystal’s had some bad luck in 2015, with a grabbed rope and a knocked head, but she’s still riding hard off the momentum she gained in winning the Femme For All, and will more than likely be the favorite heading into the contenders match at Chaos Theory, whether it’s three people or four.  Still, don’t look too far ahead, DreamBloom’s got Dark Fantasy to worry about first.

#1: SCARLETT KINCAID ***FFW CHAMPION***

Scarlett has to be seething after a shock loss to Valerie Lamb in her hometown, and that’s going to make her all the harder to beat at Chaos Theory- and remember, she already beat both her challengers in the exact same match last year.  Shit just got real.  Cajun real.
