Power X Rankings- November 5

Hey kids!

No, you’re eyes aren’t deceiving you.  This is, honest to god, a true Power X column.

Well, kinda.

Due to time constraints, I’ve elected to modify the Power X column from its longstanding version, into a much more Pollaski-friendly version.  Basically, instead of writing a full on 7,000 word column every week, we’ll split it up into smaller sections, and make this site into more like a blog than a column.

Of course, for the first entry, you get the longtime staple of the column- the Power  X rankings.

Lucky you, right?

Anyways, 54 eligible wrestlers make the first PX Rankings in over a month, and that’s with a considerable amount of people dropping off.  They are:  Ignis, Desirae Kain, Shane Sanders, Kara Harrington, Raven Wicked, Lumina Ferrari, and Elizabeth Showtime.  Of course, we have quite a few new blood people taking their place.  Like... a lot of new blood.

Anyways- let’s count them down!

#54- BRIANNE GARZA [NEW]
The Lovely Lobo didn’t have quite a lovely debut, falling to Danielle Arisu.

#53- ROXIE STEVENSON [=]
Still searching for her first FFW win, after a tough submission loss to Miss Demeanor

#52- CANDACE OKUMURA [=]
It’s been a long time since Candace’s debut win over Samara Steele.  She’s quickly discovering more experienced wrestlers aren’t quite as forgiving.

#51- MISTY WHITMORE [-3]
Just in case no one’s gotten the idea that the Scarborough Fair is better than Pure Adrenaline, Thursday Night’s velocity match cemented it.

#50- SOPHIA BLACK [Returning]
Well she’s as brutal as we’ve all remembered her.  But like so many other so called brutal wrestlers, it remains to be seen whether or not she can translate that brutality into wins.

#49- SARAH RICHARDSON [Returning]
April 26 is a long time ago, but that was the last date Sarah Richardson’s had her hand raised in victory.  It’d be interesting to see if she could handle Hanna Elliot now, given her recent rise.

#48- SHELBI LYNN CARTER [-2]
Hasn’t quite made the transition to FFW as well as she’d had liked.  Losing to rookie Kate Steele a definite ouchie moment.

#47- PENNY BUCHANAN [-11]
She’s got heart and spunk- but whether that can translate to a win over the devious Payton St. Pierre come Anarchy time remains to be seen.

#46- MARISSA KANE [NEW]
The much more likeable sibling of SVW’s Christian Kane followed up her impressive debut by being bamboozled by Payton St. Pierre.  You’d think that years of dealing with her brother’s bullshit would have taught her better.

#45- KATE STEELE [+4]
Has done slightly better than her tag team partner, but anyone else getting the feeling that this girl has been utterly unprepared for the big time?

#44- ARIANNA MILLAR [Returning]
Any suspicions that Kain was the driving force of Pink, Inc has pretty much been proven since Desirae’s departure.

#43- DANIELLE ARISU [Returning]
Undefeated in FFW competition, but two matches in three months hardly screams ‘title contender’

#42- ALLISION DEAS [-5]
Any feeling of elation she had after winning two matches in a row was certainly brought back to earth when she ran into the meat grinder that is Tara Thunder.

#41- ARABELLA BLACK [+1]
Rematch with Jodie Gray is drawing closer.  Arabella better tap into her inner rage-demon.

#40- SAMARA STEELE [+1]
Slowly gaining momentum after two consecutive victories.  Shodown with Tabatha Belmont will certainly test this rookie’s mettle.

#39- CRYSTAL HATE [=]
As of right now, she’s not scheduled for Anarchy.  A shame, as win or lose, she’s one of the more entertaining members of the FFW roster.

#38- MISS DEMEANOR [+6]
Keep an eye out for her match against Sophia Black at Anarchy.  It may not be the most technical classic, but there’s going to be no shortage of piss and vinegar.

#37- VANESSA CADE [+13]
See?  All that razzing her sure built a fire under her ass, as she prepares for what could be considered a must-win rematch against Elliot.

#36- TABATHA BELMONT [-1]
Tabby better be ready- Summer hasn’t wrestled since being ousted from the TV Championship, so she’ll be bringing her A-game.

#35- MELANIE AVILO [-5]
Has now lost four in a row, and is transitioning into one of the more disappointing champions Future Shock has had.

#34- PAYTON ST. PIERRE [Returning]
Have to give the devil her due- she sure knows how to turn everything she’s involved with into pure and utter bullshit.  But she’ll be obliterated the moment she gets through someone who can cut through it all.

#33- HAYLEY DARK [-1]
Her upcoming Firewall match against Jo may be one of the more entertaining matches of the undercard.

#32- STEPHANIE SANDERSON [+1]
Got completely and utterly destroyed by Colleen, which wasn’t a shock to anyone other than maybe Sanderson’s immediate family.

#31- HANNA ELLIOTT [+6]
Talk about a career renaissance.  Elliot’s once dead in the water situation has turned into two straight wins, and a chance at the Future Shock Cup.

#30- SOPHIE RICHARDS [-2]
No pun intended here, but Sophie’s got an uphill battle at Anarchy if she wants to prove that she can sustain success outside the Television division.

#29- JENNIFER WILLIAMS [-6]
Has the J-Will magic worn off?  Williams has lost five of her last six, and will enter Anarchy a sizeable underdog against McGuffin in the finals of the third Chase For the Crown.

#28- RORI MACKENZIE [+3]
Now that Crystal Hilton’s exposed her as the fraud she is, what’s next for Rori?  She hasn’t shown anything outside her tricks, and now people are seeing through that crap.

#27- JO MCFARLANE [+2]
Jo’s got two very entertaining matches coming up, one of which could certainly give her a boost- she’s got a strong chance to win the Future Shock Cup.

#26- RAQUEL FAIR [+1]
Fun Fact: Thursday nights win over Pure Adrenaline was Raquels’ first pinfall in FFW.  Teammate Scarboroough had gotten all the other wins for ScarFair.  Congrats, Raquel!

#25- MICKEY SCARBOROUGH [+1]
Anyone else think that ScarFair got a bum deal when Spectra Fantasia was named the #1 Contenders?  These girls have emerged as the top contender in the tag division, and they deserve their shot.

#24- JODIE GRAY [+16]
No other wrestler in FFW has caught as much a hot streak as Jodie has, winning her last four matches after losing seven of her previous nine.  Her career renaissance should lead to another shot at the TV title soon.

#23- SABRA NIKOLAYEV [+3]
Comrade Sabra’s gotten what she wanted- a spot in the Power Trip, and so far, she’s pulling a better record than most of her colleagues.  That could change when she has to deal with the ferocious Eileen Amaro.

#22- STACEY MACKENZIE [=]
If the rumors surrounding Stacey’s post-Sin & Sacrifice whereabouts are true, and she’s really hanging out with Samantha Star, than this is one woman who should never be allowed another shot at the FFW Championshp again, for the sake of the integrity of the belt.

#21- CASEY ATHERTON [-2]
*UNITY CHAMPION*
Atherton’s the highest ranked of the six women in the Future Shock Cup, but of course that hardly guarantees victory for her, especially since her first match is against the red-hot Hanna Elliot.

#20- KATHERINE STRYFE [=]
It’s actually better for her that she lost to Camilla in the first round of the Femme For All.  Kat is one woman who just clearly wrestles better with a chip on her shoulder.

#19- TRINITY [-1]
Another participant in the big Future Shock Six-Femme match, Trinity looks to continue her longstanding torture of...

#18- SERAFINA REYNOLDS [-1]
*NO SURRENDER CHAMPION*
A bit disappointed here Cupcake has sat on the pantry shelf since Sin & Sacrifice.  With luck, we’ll get  a late defense added for Anarchy- the next era of the No Surrender Championship truly needs to begin.

#17- EMMA MACNAMARA [-2]
Emma won the last four tag matches before she joined the Power Trip, all with members of the Mafia.  And she lost the first one she was in as a member.  Yet more proof that this side of the tracks is far better off without her.

#16- STARLA MCCLOUD [-8]
*UNITY CHAMPION*
Starla’s performance seems to have taken a bit of a dip since Atherton’s introduction into the Power Trip.  Think Casey belonging into her little club is throwing her off?

#15- CAMILLA PAZZINI [-1]
One might say her elimination in the Second Round of the Femme For All was a shock, but fact of the matter is, any of the final four certainly was capable of winning it all.  This tournament is proving far better than last years.

#14- CRYSTAL HILTON [-1]
*EVOLUTION CHAMPION*
And I’m still not sure what her last name should be. Just another thing that Crystal can’t keep consistent.  Let’s see if her inability to successfully defend a title remains one exception to that rule.

#13- KELLY MCGUFFIN [-2]
Anyone else hoping she wins the Chase For the Crown, simply for the sheer delight of being able to watch a Lightning vs. Kelly match?

#12- SUMMER [-2]
We’ve been told that Summer is going to be getting a chance to compete for the Evolution Championship, but as of yet, I haven’t heard of her opponent.  Still, should be a great chance to see if she can move up.

#11- VALERIE LAMB [+10]
Valerie Belmont has never won a world championship, but now sits just three wins away from that happening.  Of course, those are going to prove to be three of the toughest matches anyone could possibly want.

#10- EILEEN AMARO [+2]
2012’s winningest wrestler just keeps on rolling, although she still has that big match stigma on her.  That, of course, can all change at Anarchy.

#9- KAITLYNN STRYFE [-3]
Doubt she’s happy about being bounced from the Femme For All in the first round, but that’s her fault for thinking Wendy’s merely cannon fodder.  Another big name who’s still waiting on an Anarchy match.

#8- LIGHTNING [-1]
*TELEVISION CHAMPION*
Believe it or not, I’m actually pulling for Lightning at Anarchy.  She’s an insufferable egotist, but I’d rather it be her than a part-time wrestler like Claire Black.

#7- WENDY BRIESE [+2]
Would not be denied against Kitty, and has set up a dream match for herself against Val Lamb. Trust me, she’s excited about this one.

#6- CARA STONE [-1]
*ULTRAVIOLENCE CHAMPION*
Think Emma is going to be walking into a meat grinder at Anarchy?  Cara Stone’s damn scary when she’s pissed... and she’s pissed about Sin & Sacrifice.

#5- CAROLINE DALLINS [-1]
Will someone give this woman a title shot already?  Like maybe the No Surrender Championship?  I don’t care if she wanted Wendy or not- this woman could very well be the next huge thing in that division.

#4- COLLEEN [+12]
Not only is she in the Femme For All Finals for the Second Year in a row, she put one huge bug-a-boo in her career- her struggles against Chunks- behind her.  The New Colleen is FAR better than the Old Colleen.

#3- TARA THUNDER [=]
Tara’s picked up right where she left off after the Wendy loss at Unstoppable- and has taken four matches in a row.  Dallins/Thunder could damn well be the biggest match of the night.

#2- SCARLETT KINCAID [=]
Scarlett wants to be the first TRUE three-time FFW Champion in history, and she stands a great chance of doing it, too, so long as she doesn’t get foolish like her last Hell in the Cell.

#1- ISABELLA PAZZINI  [=]
*FFW CHAMPION*
IF anyone ever wants to know what it feels like to stand in front of 100,000 screaming people who want you to lose, and lose badly, ask Isabella after Anarchy.  Of course, depending on the result, you might want to ask very, very, nicely.

And there you have it!

Thanks for reading as the Power X enters a new era in wrestling column reporting!  Be sure to check back regularly for updates!

Until that happy moment... POLLA OUT!!
