FUTURE SHOCK THERAPY: EPISODE 13.1 RECAP

START RUNNING, LAURA

Well, no one can say we're off to a boring start this season!

As usual, the Capture the Queen match was fast paced, chaotic and fun, with all six women clearly demonstrating their strengths and weaknesses.  But it was the after match when things got really fucked up, when Laura Steele chucked all her toys out of the pram, grabbed a cattle prod, and shoved it into Adam Grant's chest.

As it stands right now, Adam's in serious but stable condition in the hospital, and faces a lengthy recovery time.  Laura's been fined 250k, and will be likely facing further disciplinary action, not to mention the wrath of a good 80% of the FFW Locker Room, where Adam was quite highly regarded.

But does it keep her in Future Shock for another week?  Well, let's took an initial look at the Power X Future Shock Standings.

1. LIGHTNING
After being the first woman out of her Future Shock Season, Jestine Leavenworth didn't even leave it up to the voters this time, capitalizing on mistakes by Hope and Willow (and overcoming sabotage by Laura) to get the pin.  Obviously, the night was quite bittersweet for her given Steele's post match actions, but there wil be plenty of time for that later.

2. NESSA WALL
Nessa was widely regarded as the best talent in Season 8, which had Aimee Easter in it.  But her personality was considered unbearable, which said something considering this was the season of Aimee Easter and April Evans.   Nessa again proved she's on the upper echelon of talent for the season, but whether her personality has enabled her to go all the way this time remains to be seen.

3. SUNNY KYOUN
Sunny gets an A for effort and an F for gamesmanship.  Had she let Laura go, Steele would have likely broken up the pin herself, and kept the match alive.  Still, you can't blame Kyoun- she wrestles the way she's been trained, and that's why the fans love her.

4. LAURA STEELE
Given her promo and in-ring actions, Laura would be a good candidate for elimination- except (and this is gonna create some outrage) upon thinking about it... her actions may have actually SAVED her.  Lightning herself is begging the fans to not eliminate Steele, and Steele is begging to be eliminated so she doesn't have to face her again (which isn't very bright- they're both on the main roster).  So despite my tweets last night, I'm recanting- Laura's very much going to survive this vote.

5. HOPE DAWSON
Hope actually managed to come off as far more competent than she did last season, which is a plus for her, although she's still got a way to go to compete with the favorites.  She's one of the two candidates I have up for elimination.

=======THE DREADED CUTLINE========
6. WILLOW
Willow didnt' do anything wrong per se, but she was still the woman pinned, and finishing at the bottom of your challenge always puts you on the chopping block.  It doesn't help that she's not on the FFW Roster either, and lasted all of one episode in Season 10, so the fans barely know her.  We may not get to know her much here either.
