Once again, its time for wrestling manager and analyst Daniel Pollaski to go over the news, reviews, and previews of Femme Fatale Wrestling! All content is the sole opinion of the author and does not reflect the views of Femme Fatale Wrestling, its wrestlers, or administration. Or Wendy Briese, for that matter, so don’t go jumping her in the hallway if you get butthurt about this. Bitch.
The Power X’s Inspirational Thought of the Week
One day I was on the ground
When I needed a hand
And it couldnt be found
I was so far down
That I couldnt get up
You know and
One day I was one of lifes losers
Even my friends were my ac-cus-ers
And in my head
Lost before I'd begun
I had a dream
But it turned to dust
What I thought was love
That must have been lust
I was living in style
When the walls fell in
When I played my hand
I looked like a joker
Turn around
Fate must have woke her
Cause lady luck she was
Waiting outside the door
Im winning
Im winning
Im winning
And I don't intend on losing again
- “Winning” Sanatana
Hey, kids!
So was Unstoppable 3 an awesome night or what? Not only did we get fourteen excellent matches (yes, fourteen, as Nicole Whitmore was SOMEHOW able to make even Sarah Peek look entertaining), but for those of us who were pretty unhappy with the ending to Conviction, we got just about the most un-Conviction like ending we possibly could.
For me, the only way I could have possibly been happier would have if Scarborough Fair had suddenly found themselves winning the tag team Championship, which would have been quite a shock, considering they weren’t exactly booked. But I couldn’t be happier for my other client, the suddenly double champion Wendy Briese, and just looking at the winners list from this PPV, there’s not a lot to complain about. Summer keeps rolling, Cara kept herself cool, and Colleen made her big return in a big way.
Oh yeah, and Scarlett Kincaid’s taken her rightful spot on top of the world again.
So with FFW’s gala event behind us, we now turn the corner, heading for Sin & Sacrifice and the looming War Games match, in which we should be hearing fairly quickly about the prospective participants. But for now, there’s a column to read, and of course, it begins with the four-corners.
1. THIS WASN’T VIOLENT NIGHT REDUX
Considering that the vast majority of fans and the locker rooms are pretty happy, you can probably bet that Saturday Night was not a good night to be a member of the Power Trip. And indeed, of the SEVEN members of the Power Trip that graced our presence inside the FFW ring, only one actually managed to win her match. And that was in a tag-team match partnering with a non-PT member.
Of course, those who know their FFW history would immediately have their minds flash back to last November’s Violent night, the last time Samantha Star’s clique had a night that bad. There, her much vaunted A-List went 0-4, and the writing was on the wall from that point on that Samantha’s much ballyhooed group of thugs’ days were numbered, an absolute shock considering the group consisted of such top-tier members as Jo McFarlane, Alyssa Foxworthy, and Payton St. Pierre. Deja Vu anyone?
Unfortunately, not really. Not this time. Yes, Unstoppable was a massive disappointment on the Power Trip’s front, but the feeling of complete and utter vanquishment isn’t there. Probably because of who the Power Trip consists of- compared to the A-List’s personnel, at least. You just can’t rule out people like Isabella Pazzini, Tara Thunder, and Kaitlynn Stryfe (none of who made up the A-List)for long.
The Power Trip's One Single fan reacts to the conclusion of Violent Night |
But more than that, it’s the feeling that the Power Trip is one big night from turning things around. And that can happen at Violent Night, not just by beating Ryan Mackenzie’s team at Sin & Sacrifice, but by Isabella beating Scarlett to reclaim the FFW Championship.
The question is- what semblance of a Power Trip are we going to see heading forward? Most specifically- the inclusion of Shane Sanders and Sabra Nikolayev. For three people to walk into a five-person match as a unit, and fail in their mission, is a definite embarassment. And it could be argued that the things began to unravel the moment that Shane attacked Isabella. To the casual observer, it was well deserved, considering she was used as a simple pawn to get Isabella the Championship. But will Isabella, Kitty, and, more importantly- Samantha Star- see it that way? Or will Shane’s actions be viewed as high treason?
As far as Sabra goes, we’ve had an idea for a while that she’s been one of Samantha Star’s girls, and she certainly proved that at Unstoppable 3, when she interfered to keep Star from getting her scrawny white freckled ass handed to her by Miss Demeanor. Of course, the hook was that although the Power Trip was banned from ringside- Sabra was never officially Power Trip. Will that change now? Will Sabra’s actions- and her obvious loyalty to Star- earn her a membership card in the prestigious stable? And if so... what of Jo McFarlane, the former A-Lister and current Samantha Sycophant who was passed over upon the formation of the group? Would Sabra’s inclusion instill a division in Spitfire?
No, the Power Trip isn’t dead, or even that badly injured. But it’s obvious from Unstoppable 3 that Samantha’s going to need to tweak the formula a bit if she hopes to best the Mackenzie Mafia & their allies at Sin & Sacrifice. And that’s the questions we’ll be seeing in the coming weeks- what adjustments are we going to be seeing Samantha Star make?
I can guarantee you that one or two current members likely aren’t going to like the answer.
2. SPEAKING OF DEJA VU, THOUGH...
Okay, stop me if you’ve heard this one. Rori Snyder (or Magnussen, or Mackenzie, or whatever), gets into a spat with a wrestler that’s fairly unlikeable in her own right, but compared to Rori, looks like a saint. That woman gets into a PPV match with Rori, and manages to lose under circumstances that were hardly decisive. So, a rematch is immediately booked for the following pay-per-view.
Oh, and that match is a Falls Count Anywhere match.
If history is any indication, Crystal Hilton (or Williams, or Lopez, or whatever) is in deep deep trouble, and will be lucky to leave the Garden with her career intact.
Rori Mackenzie is not a good wrestler. Despite her so-called “State Championship”, she has shown mere competency in the technical aspects of the sport. But, like I’ve always said- if you take away the rules, and Rori becomes one of the most dangerous women in the world. What she’s apparently forgotten about suplexes, submissions, and reversals, she’s learned in simply how to just be a bitch.
One year ago, Rori lured Shane Sanders into the parking lot, and had her nearly ran down and killed by an SUV driven by Maddison Knight (or, fuck it, I cant keep track of these idiot’s surnames!). And while it seems Rori and Maddi aren’t bosom buddies anymore, who knows what tricks Rori’s going to have up her sleeve by the time Sin & Sacrifice rolls around?
Long story short, Crystal better think back to her Parking Lot Brawl against Isabella Pazzini at Cold Blooded, because Rori is just as devious and shameless as Pazzini is- and Rori won’t be pretending to be the good guy here. Else, she’s going to find herself dealing with a monster she’s going to be completely unprepared for.
I’d say it’d be tough to watch, but actually, I’m kind of okay with this.
3. DRAMA LLAMAS REJOICE!
Drama’s everywhere in Femme Fatale Wrestling, and as much as everyone claims that they want to minimize it, you have to admit that the element is a rather huge drawing factor to our fans. People love the drama.
And people are going to LOVE the Chase for the Crown now that the first round is over.
Sure, there would have been drama on the other side. Crystal Hate trying to survive both members of Spitfire in what would have been a de facto handicapped match, while all the while the knowledge that Sabra and Jo would have to go at it sooner or later hung over the whole ordeal.
But you look at the other side? Not even friggin close.
Kelly McGuffin and Lumina Ferrari hate each other. It’s a definite historical trend that the girls of Club CK have never all gotten along very well, considering they’re all in an evergoing Olympic-level competition to fuck the same guy. But considering that Kelly and Lumina could barely cooperate in one of the biggest matches of their careers, the moment they’re free to tear into each other, well, look out.
With the chaos between the other two so thoroughly brewed, the situation seems absolutely right for Jennifer Williams- play it safe, let Kelly and Lumina destroy each other, and face the survivor in the finals. Of course, this being Jennifer, playing it safe is not in her lexicon- even if its the smart and sensible thing to do.
Instead, Jennifer’s put her own target on her opponents, particularily the equally adept high-flyer Kelly Mcguffin, who Jennifer has described as “mediocre at best”, something that I’m sure Kelly is less than pleased to hear.
So that brings up another question... can Kelly survive both other competitors gunning for her? It’s going to be a tough road, for sure, but I personally have Kelly pegged as the best all-around wrestler of the three. Lumina is too inconsistent, and Jennifer... well, does some pretty zany shit from time to time.
Either way, this Chase has already been the most competitive that we’ve seen, and it looks to keep going that way. Nothing wrong with adding a bit of fuel to the fire, and come the time for the second round, we could be looking at a hell of an inferno.
4. EILEEN AMAROS TURNED THE CORNER
‘Underachiever’ has hardly ever been a tag that’s been applied to Eileen, and a lot of that is due to her sheer likeability- it’s just hard to say anything negative about the Cubs-loving geek girl from Maryland. But its tough to deny that Eileen has stumbled when the lights have shown the brightest on her. Whether it was dropping the Chase for the Crown as an obvious favorite, her stunning loss to Alyssa Foxworth at Cold Blooded, or her loss to Tara Thunder for the Evolution Championship, Eileen has come up short in most of her biggest matches.
Unstoppable III proved an exception, and, considering Eileen’s brilliant performance in dispatching longtime friend and current bitter rival Caroline Dallins, it could prove to be a turning point in Eileen’s career. Eileen’s had the talent- there’s never been a doubt about that- but whatever mental block Eileen’s had, perhaps facing Caroline removed it.
Eileen Amaro is a Cubs fan. That does not mean she's intentionally trying to duplicate their "success" |
It couldn’t have come at a better time either. Regardless of how the rest of the team is going to be made up, Eileen is almost a shoo-in for representing the Mackenzie Mafia in the War Games match, and it’s definitely a good thing that Eileen is on an upward trend heading towards it.
You make a list of FFW women who are overdue for a title reign, and Eileen is right up there at the top, with perhaps only Kelly McGuffin above her. She keeps wrestling the way she did last Saturday, and she’s going to be off that list very quickly, and on to a far more prestigous one.
RANKINGS!
You’d think that with NINE people entering the rankings this week (thanks to the ungodly amount of returns and debuts we had at Unstoppable), the list would grow quite substantially. Unfortunately, we’re also dealing with seven dropouts, including both members of the Scarborough Fair (wtf, FFW? Most interesting tag team you have, and you ignore them?), and Claire Black. Oh, and Kara Harrington, Cheers & Jeers, and the now-released Lisa Richardson, which I’m sure you all care far less about.
As for the rest, well? Let’s count em down!
#43- SARAH PEEK [-2]
Maybe I’m off my rocker here, but maybe, just maybe, if Sarah Peek cared about wrestling her next match instead of her obviously doomed to fail tag team... she might have at least looked presentable against Nicole Whitmore.
#42- CHARITY DEAS [-2]
And the new tag team can reach even newer levels of patheticity when they are destroyed by Miss Demeanor at Velocity.
#41- TABATHA BELMONT [Returning- Last Ranked 26th on May 12]
Tabby just the latest in a long line of underachievers sent out to make Stephanie Sanderson somehow look good.
Unfortunately for Jodie, A+Start doesn't really work on wrestling careers |
#40- JODIE GRAY [-5]
Horribly outclassed in the Four-Way. Most people are starting to come to grips that the loveable gamer-girl who won our hearts during Season Five might just be gone after all.
#39- SAMANTHA STAR [Returning- Last Ranked 16th on August 6, 2011]
Well, Samantha sure looked decisively less dominating than she did a year ago, when she faced some unnamed girl in her effort to intimidate Nina Astral (it worked!). Against a real wrestler, however, she didn’t do so good, needing to resort to Sabra’s interference to keep from looking like a total washout.
#38- NICOLE WHITMORE [NEW]
Obviously, this young lady certainly has the ability and potential to move up higher, and she will. But not on beating Sarah Peek. Sorry, Nicole :(.
#37- ARABELLA DE ROSSI [-3]
As seems to be the trend with her, Arabella is once again fading into the background after coming out hot after her rage against Alex Adonis. Maybe now that Colleen’s back, we’ll see the Violent Femmes.
#36- HAYLEY DARK [-5]
Bounce & Pounce got what they wanted- that their match against Team Adonis to be made for the titles, but they couldnt’ deliver. How does that place them in the Tag Team pecking order? Well, read on.
#35- ALLISON WRIGHT [-5]
She was in over her head against Val, which wasn’t too much of a surprise, considering how fired up Val was over this.
#34- CRYSTAL HATE [-6]
Tough to blame Hate too much for that- she did everything that was asked of her- except notice that Kelly was coming back into the ring with a vengeance.
#33- MISS DEMEANOR [NEW]
Finally got to see a glimpse of what Miss Demeanor was all about in the ring, and have to admit, I liked what I saw.
Yoga TITLE DEFENSE! |
#32- RAVEN WICKED [Returning- Last ranked 21st on January 30]
Raven was hoping to make a blazing return, and did, just not in the way she had intended.
#31- SERAFINA REYNOLDS [+1]
With Unstoppable out of the way, Serafina has a lot to look forward to in the next couple months- a chance at the No Surrender Championship, and a long-awaited showdown with Trinity.
#30- STEPHANIE SANDERSON [-1]
Perhaps wrestled the best match of her career against Tabatha Belmont. That is not saying much.
#29- MELANIE AVILO [-5]
The Season 5 Champion has hit a very cold streak, losing three out of her last four matches, and watching another shot at a title go down the drain.
#28- LIGHTNING [+5]
Finally got a shot at ‘real’ compeition, and acquitted herself well. Now gets to go one on one with Summer at Sin & Sacrifice.
#27- SABRA NIKOLAYEV [=]
Came up short in her quest to advance in the Chase for the Crown, but made a far bigger name by assisting Samantha Star. But is Miss Demeanor really an enemy she wants to have?
#26- IGNIS [-4]
After the disappointment at Unstoppable, Ignis still can’t get that one big victory over Casey Atherton. With luck, she’ll get another one on one crack soon, this time without Adonis to screw things up.
#25- ARIANNA MILLAR [-4]
Proved a surprisingly competent referee. So if Pink, Inc. is truly dead now, and Desi’s not going to carry around her overinflated career anymore, at least she’ll have a fallback plan once she bombs on her own.
Artist's conception of the average fan upon realizing Valerie Belmont was Back in the ring. |
#24- VALERIE BELMONT [Returning- Last Ranked 5th on August 6, 2011]
After more than a year’s absence, Valerie Belmont finally makes her return to FFW and the Power X rankings! And she certainly looked more formidable than the other returnee after a year, to boot. Expect her to move up more- she was contending for the FFW Championship at the time of her hiatus.
#23- JO MCFARLANE [-4]
Odd to actually have Jo ranked above her sister, but after her valiant effort in the Chase, she deserves it for now. Of course, this being Jo, don’t expect her to sustain momentum.
#22- LUMINA FERRARI [-2]
Picked up the pin, although I doubt she’s all too happy with the way that came about. She’ll have an opportunity to let Kelly know of her dissatisfaction soon enough.
#21- KATHERINE STRYFE [-3]
To be fair to Kat... was ANYONE gonna stop Colleen in her return match? Although Kat once again might have benefited by keeping her mouth shut.
#20- CRYSTAL WILLIAMS [-4]
Todd Williams has apparently been studying the Alex Adonis playbook. Specifically, how to fuck up a match to keep the wife from looking bad.
#19- SHANE SANDERS [-2]
Hrm, turning on your stable’s poster-girl in the middle of the biggest match of the year. That can’t come back to haunt you at ALL!
Artist's conception of the average fan upon realizing Rori Mackenzie was back in the ring |
#18- RORI MACKENZIE [Returning- Last Ranked 13th on September 29, 2011]
Gotta give her credit, she forced Crystal into her kind of match, to the point that Todd had to get involved. Now she’ll get Crystal in what is DEFINITELY her kind of match.
#17- COLLEEN [Returning- Last Ranked 12th on April 4]
It felt good to see Ms. Harmon back in the ring again, making people tap. Now we’ll have to see what title she’ll elect to make a run at.
#16- CASEY ATHERTON [-1] *UNITY TAG TEAM CHAMPION*
Once again, her unfathomable, yet indisputable chemistry with Starla McCloud shines through, and Team Adonis triumphs again. But I still dont think things are over between her and Ignis.
#15- DESIRAE KAIN [-5]
The bad luck streak continues for Desirae, as she comes up short in a phenomenal match against Sophie Richards. Surely she’ll be able to right the ship at Breaking Point.
#14- SOPHIE RICHARDS [Returning- Last Ranked 7th on April 28]
Sophie proved that she hadn’t lost form after losing the TV title, even if she’s coming back with a far worse attitude. The big question now is where exactly she’ll go from here.
#13- JENNIFER WILLIAMS [+1]
Jenny just survived two huge boss fights, and advances to the next level. That’s one BITCH of a level, with showdowns against Tara Thunder, Scarlett Kincaid, and Kelly McGuffin & Lumina Ferrari. Jennifer has all the heart in the world, but she better get her experience points and stats up.
#12- EMMA MACNAMARA [-1]
The potential alliance between Emma and Scarlett never existed, and it made things tough for the Hit Girl, and she took a beating from all sides in the Scramble, being on the wrong end of nearly half the falls in the match.
#11- CAROLINE DALLINS [-2]
Like I said earlier, this was more a coming out party for Eileen than it was an indication of weakness in Caroline. The big question is if Killer C will see it the exact same way.
#10- EILEEN AMARO [+2]
Honestly cannot stress enough how much that was the performance all of Eileen’s fans have been waiting for. Can’t stop now- Lumina’s caught people on a career high off guard before.
#9- KELLY MCGUFFIN [+4]
Was an absolute STAR for her team in the Chase for the Crown, but it’s put a huge target on her back. My guess, she can cope with the pressure.
#8- STARLA MCCLOUD [=] *UNITY TAG TEAM CHAMPION*
Its a good thing for the rest of us that her recent success with Casey aren’t making the two like each other anymore.
#7- SUMMER [-1] *TELEVISION CHAMPION*
Became the first woman in FFW history to successfully defend the TV title in a four-way. But the extra women in the match may have proven to her advantage- things might not be the same way when she faces Lightning one on one.
#6- KAITLYNN STRYFE [+1]
Survived the Scramble without taking any falls. That’d be a good reason to give her the next shot at Scarlett, but apparently Isabella’s getting first crack. How does that make Kitty feel, to see someone else getting that shot?
#5- CARA STONE [-1] *ULTRAVIOLENCE CHAMPION*
It’s a shame Rose Jenkins is still gone. It’d be fun to see how Cara could handle the third Ultraviolence staple that was there before she entered the division.
#4- TARA THUNDER [-2]
Maybe I’m going out on a limb here, but she might be very pissed, and very vengeful when she faces Jennifer Williams.
#3- ISABELLA PAZZINI [=]
Came within seconds of keeping her title, until a last minute pin by Scarlett iced the deal. The rematch clause is cashed, but Isabella does not want to let Scarlett win again.
Apparently "Manah" means "one championship belt" in weird pink Muppet language. |
#2- WENDY BRIESE [+3] *EVOLUTION CHAMPION & NO SURRENDER CHAMPION*
Nearly every caveat to Wendy’s FFW career thus far was responded to with a vengeance at Unstoppable, and she walked out the company’s first double champion. But not even I know which road she’s going to take at the fork she unexpectedly finds herself at.
#1- SCARLETT KINCAID [=] *FFW CHAMPION*
I don’t get to say this much, but did I call this one or what? Scarlett now stands proud as the first ever two-time LEGITIMATE FFW Champion in history.
TAG TEAM RANKINGS!
As per Power X policy, the tag team rankings are reviewed after every title match, the last set of these coming on June 30. So how have things progressed in the last month? Well...
#6- SPITFIRE [=]
As I suspected, Jo and Sabra’s teamwork ability helped greatly in the Chase for the Crown, but couldn’t quite clear the hurdle of Kelly McGuffin’s ingenuity.
#5- SCARBOROUGH FAIR [=]
Would be higher, if someone would book them. OY! Greatest tag team in the world sitting here!!
#4- BOUNCE & POUNCE [=]
Came up short in a Tag Title match for the second time in a row. If they want a third shot, they’ve got a lot of work ahead of them.
It's fun with analogies time! Sophie Richards : Pink,Inc :: ?????? : The Beatles |
#3- PINK, INC [-1]
Are they even going to be still together, or has Arianna finally fully slid off of Desirae Kain’s back? Just some of many questions that will be answered in the coming weeks.
#2- THE WILLIAMS CLAN [+1]
Slide into the number two spot simply by default. Which goes to show how suddenly shaky the tag team division’s become.
#1- TEAM ADONIS [=] *UNITY TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS*
Right now, unfortunately, no other team comes even close to touching them at the moment, and their stranglehold of the titles has increased. Someone needs to step up.
INCOMING!
And so with the biggest show of the year behind us, we now deal with the fallout, which should be quite a bit given the events of the PPV. And of course, attention already turns to the next PPV, Sin & Sacrifice, which already has four matches set for it. And it won’t be long until we discover who will be the members of the Mackenzie Mafia and Power Trip teams to throw down in Sin & Sacrifice’s main event- War Games!
BREAKING POINT- Agust 11 from London, United Kingdom
A lot of huge stuff on tap for the first Breaking Point here, and not all of it is going to be in a match. For one, Ryan Mackenzie is going to be announcing his team for War Games, and from the sound of things, a lot more than four women are hoping to be named to this, my client included (hint, hint). There’s going to be some disappointment for those not chosen. Also, Wendy Briese will be relinquishing one of her two titles, and as of press time, she’s still asking everyone and anyone which one she should keep, because she can’t decide. Either way, she’ll have a slew of tough defenses lined up for her regardless of what road she tooks. This’ll be more exciting than the fact that it’s the final day of the Olympics!
Apparently, a win over Sabra followed by a loss to Colleen was enough to restore someone in management’s faith in her, as Katherine Stryfe once again returns to the main event. Facing off against Desirae Kain, who’s had a bit of struggles of her own. Hopefully, both women will feel the desperation of this obviously must-win match, and we could get a pretty exciting contest. Or both could have mentally given up, phone it in, and we’ll have a dud. Can’t hurt that it’s Kat’s hometown, and the French have always gotten their rocks off in getting the better of the Brits.
Now THAT is how you do a spear! |
The other side of the double main-event coin looks far more promising, as one half of the tag team champions Starla McCloud faces off with the returning Camilla Pazzini. Chunks has been off recovering after her mind-blowing match with Stone at Conviction, and I think everyone wants to see her demonstrate to Starla just how you do a spear. And Nicole Whitmore, fresh off her debut victory at Unstoppable, takes on the struggling Crystal Hate, who would love to sidetrack Nicole’s hot start.
Val gets another victim to her comeback train, this time in the form of Sarah Richardson, mercifully the last Richardson remaining in SVW. Maybe by the time Val’s done with her, there will be none left? And two new debuts hit the ring, with Candace Okimura facing off against the much less likeable Samara Steele. Have a feeling The Joshi Dragon’s going to have a leg up on the fan support there.
Oh, and Trinity squares off with Charity Deas, in a match where one woman’s pretending to be a nun, and the other’s pretending to be a wrestler.
VELOCITY- August 16 from Belfast, United Kingdom
The third and final stop in the united kingdom, an the penultimate stop of the 2012 World Tour. You know that there’s going to be a lot of people fired up for this- after all, the Irish love a good fight, and if it’s going to involve Emma MacNamara, they’re not going to complain.
Three stops in the UK on the World Tour. Four countries in the Kingdom. Guess which one got the shaft? |
Emma’s facing Kitty Stryfe, in what should be the latest in a series of Power Trip vs. Mafia matches that have been heating up the rivalry between these two. Doesn’t hurt that Kitty might have a bit of a swagger to her heading into this match- she did pin Emma twice during the Championship scramble. Emma should be hot for a little payback.
The big question of the night, though, is what state of mind is Tara Thunder going to be in?
After losing a hellacious match to Wendy Briese, Tara could be either at her most vulnerable, or her most fired-up. If it’s the latter, it won’t spell well for Jennifer Williams, who’s embarking on what will prove to be the toughest stretch of her career.
Miss Demeanor had to deal with two people at Unstoppable, but unfortunately she couldn’t put eiither away for good, even if she did end up winning the match. And while Sarah and Charity don’t really add up to the talent of a single person, I have a feeling that it’s going to be muy entertaining to watch the One-Woman Army shred through the two hapless nogoodniks. And she’ll have a good opportunity to scout her opponent for S&S, Sabra Nikolayev, who faces her good friend Penny Buchanan, finally making her in ring debut after a long, much-discussed buildup.
Eileen and Lumina are both coming off wins at Unstoppable, although I think Eily’s far more happier with hers than Lumina is. Still, both have a chance to keep their sudden spurt of momentum going when they face each other, although this one could come down to which Lumina Ferrari ultimately shows up. And Undine and Tabatha Belmont prepare to square off, in a match that will presumably be to see which woman has the shittiest attitude.
AWARDS!
Didn’t have to go too far from home this week, as I managed to get a volunteer from none other than my brother from another mother, Terrence Thompson. For those of you who don’t know about the Twister, he’s a former five time world champion, 7 time tag champion, and the husband of Wendy Briese. He also drives the FFW Car in the ARCA racing series, of which he’s currently a tight second in the championship race. So take it away, Twistaman!
In a landmark moment, Terrence Thompson will talk about wrestling without making one bitchy comment about Anders Stark cheating. |
MATCH OF THE WEEK: The Championshp Scramble
This was probably the toughest call of the night. I mean, almost half the matches contained one awesome moment or another. But how can you deny the Scramble this award. Thirty minutes of fast paced action, not to mention some surprised. (I mean, Stacey Mackenzie kicking Isabella Pazzini’s ass was priceless!). And hot redhead #3 winning the world championship at the buzzer. I mean... DAYUM. Girl gets a D for efficiency, but an A for dramatic timing!
After discussing things with Terrence, Valerie Belmont is “hot redhead #2.” Just in case you were wondering. Runners up!
- Sophie Richards vs. Desirae Kain (This gem was buried a bit down on the card, but it still deserves all the props leveled to it. Both women delivered at a high level, and it miraculously wasn’t fucked up by shoddy officiating. One of the unherlalded matches of US3)
- Wendy Briese vs. Tara Thunder (This was considered a dream match, and it certainly filled it’s billing. Both women were at their top level for this.)
WINNER OF THE WEEK: WENDY BRIESE
Of course, who else is it gonna be other than my super-sexy awesome wife, who is DEINITELY a natural redhead and, contrary to popular opinion, does actually wrestle naked (I’m her only opponent, though). But she’s even better fully clothed, as poor Tara Thunder found out. Awesome job, hon! Can’t wait for a “rematch” when you get home!
It’s a good thing this is getting posted while I’m in London dude.
- Scarlett Kincaid (Of course she’s a big winner. She’s got the biggest title in the land!)
- Summer (Set a bit of history in her own right in winning the four way, and extending her TV title reign past its fourth month.)
LOSER OF THE WEEK: BOUNCE & POUNCE
I know a little something about tag team wrestling. I actually know a lot of things about tag team wrestling. And I know this- losing to your biggest rival team SUCKS (its even worse when its a match on figure skates. Trust me on that). Especially when they’ve been getting your goat for the better part of the last year. Double especially when its for the tag team titles. I feel for those girls. I hope they Bounce back from it, and Pounce on the competition. Heh, that was witty.
Needless to say, Terrence won’t ever be writing his own line of Sympathy Cards
- Raven Wicked (Hardly the return match she was hoping for, although in the still-thin Ultraviolence division, a rematch is likely not that far away for her)
- Isabella Pazzini (She can say whatever she wants, but the truth is simple- her reign as champion was never legitimate, and once again she’s Scarlett Kincaid’s bitch. Once Sin & Sacrifice is over, the book will be closed on Isabella’s contendership status- permanently.)
For educational purposes, when you are named the Douchebag of the Week, THIS is what you are being compared to. |
DOUCHEBAG OF THE WEEK: SHANE SANDERS & KELLY MCGUFFIN
I know something about teamwork too, and that’s everyone’s gotta be on the same page. My tire changer isn’t gonna go off and change Benny Grable’s tire in the middle of the race just because he feels like it. We stick together. So if you’re gonna do a team-based thing for wrestling, well, you should stay with it. Like everyone thought, ego was the Power Trip’s undoing, and it was from the one person on that squad that didn’t deserve to have an ego, the way I see it. Kelly did that too... but at least it was all a ruse to screw with her opponents. Still, probably would have been nice if she had clued Lumina and Jenny in on that.
So... let me get this straight dude. Wrestling for yourself in a supposed free-for-all match is bullshit? Right...
- Todd Williams (This was NOT who I figured I’d be putting here coming out of the Rori/Crystal match. But the idiot deseves it.)
- Sabra Nikolayev (You can hate her involvement in Star/Demeanor, but it is the most notable thing she’s done her entire career here.
