POWER X- June 2013

That may have gone down in FFW history as one of the most incredible, emotional shows this company has ever done.  From the first match to the last, everything was incredible, and I know every fan in the Barclay’s Arena went home happy.  Anyways, Relentless is in the books, which means it’s time to unveil another Power X Rankings!  As usual, we cover the whole cycle here, which means anyone competing from the April 13 Breaking Point to Relentless has been covered.

Some stats about the last cycle to go on before we get going:

Number of Shows: 7
Number of Matches: 44
Number of Wrestlers Involved: 56
Number of Pinfalls: 32
Number of Submissions: 7 (one by proxy)
Number of Countouts/Disqualifications: 2
Number of People Who Won’t Quit Now That Amanda Saint Is Gone: 17

Alright, so who’s ready for the rankings?  As before, everyone who competed in this cycle is ranked (save for Dante Knox, Amanda Saint, and Cody Kincaid, of course.

Sadly, 17 of the wrestlers on the last rankings didn’t meet the criteria this time around.  Of those, most of those have left the companny, but there are a few that just couldn’t get a match this time around.  Either way, those are [with post-Chaos Theory rankings in  brackets]:

Rori Mackenzie [6th]
Caroline Dallins [13th]
Maddison Knight [19th]
Samara Steele [25th]
Payton St. Pierre [29th]
Miss Demeanor [32nd]
Stacey Allen [34th]
Mickey Scarborough [38th]
Raquel Fair [39th]
Abby Fitzpatrick [40th]
Raven Wicked [47th]
Ashley Whitmore [50th]
Marissa Kane [52nd]
Danielle Arisu [54th]
Enigma [59th]
Shelby Lynn Carter [60th]
Paris Xionis [61st]

Now, on to this week.  The top 40 will be spotlighted, but we do rank everyone here, so here are the 13 wrestlers that didn’t quite get the cut this time around.

53. Alexis [+2]
52. Melody Williams [+10]
51. Maia Lopez [+6]
50. Crystal Hate [+13]

40
*
DESIRAE KAIN
+8
The mere fact that this woman is challenging for the FFW Championsihp at the Anniversary Show is mere proof that the concept of the Future Shock Prizes can occasionally backfire HORRIBLY.
39
*
NICOLE WHITMORE
+4
The middle Whitmore sister (prestige wise, at least), was pretty quiet the last two months, only appearing in a six femme tag meatch.  Maybe she’ll make some noise on the road to unstoppable
38
*
CANDI
-1
Well, on the bright side, she did beat Sophia Black.  Who then beat Desirae Kain.  Who is challenging for the FFW Championship.  The More you know
37
*
SOPHIA BLACK
+27
My records only go back to December 8, 2011, so I can’t even begin to tell you the last time Sophia won a match- until her stunning upset of Desirae Kain that is one of the hugest upsets in company history.
36
*
SOPHIE RICHARDS
+13
It’s almost weird how little Sophie has been relevent since her historic TV title run came to a close last year.  At least her win over Candi showed us she’s still alive

35
*
ARABELLA BLACK
NEW
Arabella took some time off to focus on Future Shock’s Season of CHampions, but now she’s back on the scene, helping out her sister-in-law.  Arabella could become a factor in the UV division soon
34
*
JESSIKA HEXSTAR
+2
Hate to say it, but Jess has done a pretty decent job of establishing herself.  Wins over Misty and Pure Adrenaline are strong ways to move up, even if Kate just cleaned her clock.
33
*
MIKALEA DEMIDOV
NEW
Dating back to last year, Mika’s winning streak is now at a robust 5 matches.  And, unlike last year, she’s facing talent a wee bit tougher than Sarah Peek.

32
*
MILEENA SAVAGE
+3
What’s happened to Mileena?  After starting strong with a win over Claire and a close call in the UV Battle Royal, Savage now sits on a five match losing streak, including a revenge loss to Black
31
*
CLAIRE BLACK
+15
She was looking to knock Mileena out, and she did just that in going on to take the flag match.  She needs more if she hopes to truly climb back in the TV title picture.

30
*
KARA HARRINGTON
-3
You have to wonder how truly okay Kara Harringtony is watching her friend parade around with a title for a division SHE helped create
29
*
ALYSSON GARDNER
NEW
Gardner is back in FFW, after a brief hiatus, and she came in strong, becoming a thorn in Harrington’s side quickly.  Now riding a six-match unbeaten streak carrying to last year
28
*
GIGANTE
-2
Gia is coming strong, and will likely be a force in the UV division, if what she did to Mileena is a preview. Who wants to bet a rematch  with Gray is the first on her agenda?
27
*
KATE STEELE
-4
Win over Hexstar caps off what had been an otherwise disappointing two months for Kate.  Definitely signs of a turnaround though, as she hopes to build momentum for Unstoppable
26
*
MISTY WHITMORE
-9
A bit of a rough patch for Misty, featuring bummer of losses to Jessika Hexstar and Shane Sanders.  But Misty’s a tougher cookie than she looks (and occasionally acts).
25
*
SHANE SANDERS
NEW
Absolutely exploded onto the scene with a massive win over Misty Whitmore at Byte This.  Even though she turned around and lost to Crystal at Relentless, she looks like she has shed her demons of old.
24
*
JODIE GRAY
-8
A strong performance against Wendy was a good attempt to bounce back from the humiliation she suffered at the hands of Kinsey.  Just couldn’t quite get the job done.
23
*
KINSEY ROBINSON
+21
Beware the nice ones, eh?  Certainly with Kinsey who has burst onto the scene strong in the last month or so.
22
*
PENNY BUCHANAN
+11
The Pain Train’s rolling as the engine of Anger Management, as well as a fun little bonus match beatdown against Maia Lopez.  How’s she going to handle the considerably more talented Kate?
21
*
LIGHTNING
-7
Sparky’s been pretty quiet, despite a slowly developing three match winning streak that has helped push Poets & Prophets up the tag ranks.
20
*
IGNIS
*UNITY CHAMPION*
-5
She brought the heat, but couldn’t quite get hot enough to land the Future Shock Championship.  Everyone is eagerly awaiting the healing of her ankle, no two more than Anger Management
19
*
APRIL EVANS
+11
Anger Management has become a nasty force to be reckoned with.  But what’s up with April suddenly turning into a twat about Ignis’ injury?
18
*
HAYLEY DARK

*UNITY CHAMPION*
+3
Twiddling her thumbs with Ignis out with an injury.  Maybe she should get out more and make new friends  Or enemies.  Then she’d have someone to fight in singles, which she hasn’t had a match in since November.
17
*
KIELLY MCGUFFIN
+5
Right, I know, Kelly completely choked in the climax of a match for a title she spent a year chasing, but she’s got no one to blame but herself.  Maybe she should have focused more on winning and less on being a bitch.  Stealing the title after the match shows her priorities still tilt towards the latter.
16
*
CRYSTAL HILTON
+8
Crystal’s been  in some pretty tough dogfights, but still, it’s a bit surprising that she only now just scored her first win of 2013.  On the bright side, she’s proven herself fully recovered from her injuries at Hardcore War, and she’s ridden herself of some excess baggage.
15
*
CAMILLA PAZZINI
-3
2013 has actually not been that good of a year for Chunks, especially by her standards.  Not exactly a slump, but her loss to Casey was one of the biggest upsets I’ve seen.  But she’ll bounce back.  She always does.
14
*
KATHERINE STRYFE
-10
Well, on the bright side, for once her overused, tired ‘you’ll have to kill me to beat me’ line actually played out. Gonna bet she doesn’t try THAT again
13
*
WENDY BRIESE
NEW
Three matches, three wins, including one over a former FFW Champion,, which is about as good a return as Briese could hope for.
12
*
AIMEE EASTER
+6
6-0!  But she could be facing her toughest test yet with April Evans at the next Velocity.
11
*
STARLA MCCLOUD
-4
Believe it or not, Starla is on a FOUR match losing streak. However, the only one she actually has taken a fall in is the tag match against Spectra Fantasia, when Casey hung her out to dry.  That leaves her in strong candidacy for an FFW Title shot after Isabella takes her rematch clause at Unstoppable.
10
*
JENNIFER WILLIAMS

*TELEVISION CHAMPION*
+1
  1. Still Television Champion, thanks to a strong finish over Kelly McGuffin, when Big Match Jenny came into play.  Now she needs to find a way to get her actual physical belt back.

9
*
EMMA MACNAMARA
-4
Emma’s UV title reign came to an end in a parking lot.  Considering she was trying to shake off three months of ring rust during that contest, a rematch with Diney should be in order.
8
*
SERAFINA REYNOLDS
+1
The longest title reign in Femme Fatale Wrestling history came to an end at Relentless, and Serafina hardly has anything to be ashamed of.
7
*
UNDINE

*ULTRAVIOLENCE CHAMPION*
+13
When Undine came back, I was almost CERTAIN she was heading for the No Surrender Division.  Turns out it was the exact opposite.  And it turns out it was the right choice.
6
*
CASEY ATHERTON

*FUTURE SHOCK CHAMPION*
+22
Nobody had a better two month stretch than Casey, and that includes Val herself.  Massive win over Chunks, claiming the first Future Shock Championship, and kicking Starla to the curb in epic fashion.  See what happens when you actually focus on not being a delusional bitch?
5
*
SCARLETT KINCAID
+3
A quiet couple of months for Scarlett, actually, with her only match being a win over Desirae Kain, and she wasn’t even allowed in the building at Relentless.
4
*
EILEEN AMARO

*EVOLUTION CHAMPION*
+6
A long time coming for Eileen, who finally has a belt to call her very own.  Her willingness to do whatever it takes to get the win made the difference.
3
*
ISABELLA PAZZINI
-2
Bella went to the wella one too many times with that bell hammer, and payed dearly for it.   Rematching for the title has to be high on her agenda, as well as a bit of revenge on the suddenly pesky Wendy
2
*
TARA THUNDER

*NO SURRENDER CHAMPION*
+1
Once again with gold around her waist, Tara Thunder is certainly looking at another long reign if she can keep up her usual consistency.  But will Cupcake want a rematch?
1
*
VALERIE LAMB

*FFW CHAMPION*
+1
An absurdly long time in coming for Val, who went through hell and high water to survive two members of the Power Trip and become the FFW Champion.

SHOW RANKINGS- Breaking Point May 11, 2013

Relentless' go home show was full of action and surprises- not to mention a brand new champion.  But who came out on top for the entire night?

1. UNDINE- No argument here, as Diney survived a hellacious Parking Lot brawl to net her first FFW Championship in over two years.  Once a bonafide Top-10 FFW Wrestler, the Aquablonde is back on the rise.

2. KINSEY ROBINSON- She's becoming nearly unbeatable in one on one match settings.  It's when you start involving other people that she gets a bit shaky.

3. VALERIE LAMB- I'm sure Val would LOVE last night to be a sign of things to come for Starla.  But chances are it won't quite be that easy.

4. KATE STEELE- Put up a hell of a fight, and leaves Saint Louis with her head held high.  She'll get another crack at the belt, you can be sure of that.

5. MISTY WHITMORE- Snapped a three match losing streak with a convincing win over Crystal Hate.

6. CAMILLA PAZZINI- While she didn't really get a revenge win over Casey, I'm betting that stomping of Poor Starla felt GOOD.

7. EMMA MACNAMARA- For being on the shelf for three months, she certainly acquitted herself decently.  But defending your title in a three way parking lot brawl is a pretty damn tall order to come back to.

8. JODIE GRAY- I'm gonna guess she's probably convinced that Kinsey's rise in the company isn't strictly because of Ryan's influence anymore...

9. CASEY ATHERTON- Maybe it's just me... but I had a feeling that Casey wanted to do that for a LONG time.

10. MIKALEA DEMIDOV- She's still technically undefeated in FFW, although Candi is by FAR the toughest opponent she's ever faced.

11. STARLA MCCLOUD- To be fair to Starla, she ended up being in a situation she pretty much had no chance of winning in.  On the other hand, the bitch COMPLETELY deserved it.

12. CANDI- She's taken another loss, yes, but as usual, she went down fighting hard.  Candi's going to turn the corner soon.  I can feel it.

13. SOPHIA BLACK- I'm fairly certain Sophia Black has won in FFW before... but I don't know when, because my own records don't go that far back.

14. CRYSTAL HATE- WIth Sophia's win, Crystal now possesses the longest losing streak in the company, at nine matches.

15. DESIRAE KAIN- Absolute pooch-screwing ball drop here.  Desi's embarassing herself, and every Future Shock alumni she outlasted to become the Ultimate Champion.  Show some fucking pride.

Show Rankings- VELOCITY May 2, 2013

After a great night of action in Richmond that saw some surprises- and a new FFW Title crowned its first champion, we head back to the rankings board.  Only one more show until Relentless, and things are heating up... but who was the hottest?

1. CASEY ATHERTON- For the second match in a row, Casey pulls out all the stops andd   comes away with a good, clean win.  And now she has a true, honest to god title, to boot.  What a huge coup for a girl once known strictly for her delusions of grandeur.

2. UNDINE- Was absolutely brilliant in the Six-Femme Tag Match, and won the day.  She does that again, we have a new Ultraviolence Champion.

3. PENNY BUCHANAN- Penny was her usual, solid self.  She's now on a four match win streak.

4. KARA HARRINGTON- Like Undine, Kara was in a form we haven't seen from her in a while.  Should set her up as the favorite heading into face Gardner at Relentless.

5. JODIE GRAY- By hook or by crook, Jodie comes out the winner against Gigante.  Gives her momentum going into a difficult two match stretch against Kinsey and Wendy.

6. GIGANTE- Was robbed against Jodie, but Giggy is taking it in stride.  Not a good thing actually- this is where she needs to tap into her inner rage demons.

7. IGNIS- The seven consecutive suplexes was a nice crowd-pleaser, but it was a clear mistake, as Iggy ran out of gas.  She should have known better, and it probably cost her the chance to hold a third title.

8. MISTY WHITMORE- Of the women on the losing side in the six-femme, Misty seemed to fight the hardest, but just couldn't get the job done.  Oh, and happy birthday, since she turns 20 today.

9. KINSEY ROBINSON- A strong performance downing the former tag champ to push herself back above .500.  Facing Jodie next will be a true challenge.

10. JESSIKA HEXSTAR- Wasn't nearly as effective as Club CK VIP in the six femme, but she had her moments.

11. KATE STEELE- Had the unfortunate distinction of being the one pinned in the Six Femme, but it was really a case of wrong place at the wrong time.  Still, she needs to step it up if she wants the UV title.

12. ALYSSON GARDNER- Gardner hasn't lost a match since February 15... of last year.  Although that's mainly because she was absent from FFW for about a year.  Still, a solid win against Crystal Hate keeps pushing her up the ladder.

13. CRYSTAL HATE- Tough break for Crystal, who came close, but no cigar against Aly.  The losing streak's now hit 8, but there's a feeling that Hate's one good break away from getting back over the hump.

14. NICOLE WHITMORE- The blonde bombshell didn't embarass herself, but its clear she's still working off the rust from being out so long, and two sporadic matches against Enigma and Ashley haven't done much to bring her back.  She'll come around.

15. MELANIE AVILO- Tough match for Mel, who was in the ring with perhaps the two best-known Future Shock alumni FFW has.  She was right in there at the end, though, but that counter... ouch.

16. ARIANNA MANNING- It's ironic that Arianna is so willing to bite Desirae's hand, because she just hasn't been the same outside of Pink, INc.  Last night was yet another example of that.

17. MAIA LOPEZ- Somehow managed to pull out a reasonable effort against Penny, but let's be honest- this woman is a mess.  Even in a top-notch company like FFW, zero wins in six matches isn't exactly a sign that you're cutting it.
